Tom Brady.... meh....

No, he didn't. They were not married. IIR he and his ex-girlfriend were past the breakup process, and he was already dating Gisele, when she found out she was pregnant. He's been a great dad to that child by all reports.

Got it. Thanks!

And his ex has since married and is starring on Blue Bloods. All ancient history.

Doesn't do a thing for me, but then again I'm not particularly into dudes.

If he walked by me on the street I would probably do a double take, that is it. Not the type of guy I would have pursued when younger.

He's a nice looking fellow but he's not "all that". Why does everyone think he is?

Well, if you live in Massachusetts, like I used to, I think it's a law that you idolize Tom Brady. At least that's the way it seemed when I lived there.

I am a big football fan & understand the position. It's his personality that I'm not a fan of.

As far as the Patriots offense, they looked pretty good early in the season without him. Most quarterbacks starting for other teams would look really good in the Patriots system with the players they have. That said, he has been the quarterback behind the center for the Pats championships. I can understand why Pats fans would love him. I can also understand why others don't care for him & it has nothing to do with jealousy. He just doesn't come off as a very likable person to me.

The Patriots looked *OK* without him, earlier this season. And I agree, they have a great system and could plug any number of decent QB's in and probably do well. That's why they are not just a one-man team (ahem...Indy and the Broncos, anyone?) THAT is why the Patriot's organization is the way it is - because they are a talented GROUP of players that work well together. It's nice to watch. I wish more teams were like that.

Still doesn't mean Brady, as a QB, is any less of a player than what his past and present accomplishments have proven.

It's all relative on personality.....We've had Jay Cutler for 7 years. Talk about a non-likable personality! Brady looks like a downright sweetheart next to him. Haha

But, I just read the OP's edit, and she was only talking about his looks. So, I guess in this thread, the matter of him being "all that" in a football sense, is moot, and I probably shouldn't have clicked on this thread ;)

I think if his head was about three inches shorter he'd be better looking. Maybe if he wore a hat?

Are you sure you're not confusing him with Peyton Manning?

Haha, just kidding. I think both of them are good-looking, in their own ways. Neither are really my type, anyway.

Which football player is your type?

I don't know....I don't really look at football players that way, to be honest. In my experience, they usually smell like football sweat most of the time, or they remind me of my 16 year old and his friends. Too many carpools full of teenage boys after 3 hour workouts! Grossest. Smell. Ever.

If I was forced to pick, it would definitely be a lineman. Brian Urlacher back in the day, or JJ Watts probably would be on the list. Players that carry themselves with class and humility. I've always been more partial to the hard workers than the superstars in any life capacity.

I guess most of all, my true football loves are the adorable little 6 year olds the first time they put a helmet on and run around like little bobble-heads bumping into each other in XS football pants that go down to their ankles.

Hey I'm 63.....I'm just watching the big game for the Budweiser horses and hopefully other fun ads. Don't need abs when you have great ads, IMHO. :rotfl:

I never lived in Massachusetts, but if I did, I'd be idolizing Bobby Orr.

humph. I've never understood the idolization of celebrities, no matter the genre...sports, music, TV, movies. They are all just entertainers. Of course the sports stars also have people betting on their performance (which I don't get either).

Perhaps it's the money thing. Maybe the masses put more value on people that make bank vs. people that serve the community in some other capacity (teachers, LEO, fire fighters, military, etc...I could go on and on).

Give me a man in uniform and/or with a brain (and I don't mean sports uniforms).

Lots of sports stars and celebrities do good in the community too. You just don't see it because they do it behind the scenes.

I thought the same thing. I was watching the news a couple days ago and Tom Brady was on doing an interview. I had to do a double take because I thought no way could that be the Tom Brady - the one that everyone thinks is super hot. I don't think he's that good looking, but I know a lot do. He doesn't really stand out to me. IDK, beauty (or hotness ;) ) is in the eye of the beholder.

I think he is good looking, but "not my type".....kidding.
