I am a big football fan & understand the position. It's his personality that I'm not a fan of.
As far as the Patriots offense, they looked pretty good early in the season without him. Most quarterbacks starting for other teams would look really good in the Patriots system with the players they have. That said, he has been the quarterback behind the center for the Pats championships. I can understand why Pats fans would love him. I can also understand why others don't care for him & it has nothing to do with jealousy. He just doesn't come off as a very likable person to me.
What I've seen I'm not impressed with. I'm not going to come right out & say exactly how I view him. Sometimes, it's best to sensor yourself. This is one of those times for me. It really doesn't matter to me how others view him whether that be positively or negatively. I don't normally give him a second thought much less take opinions about him personally.I don't think we see a whole lot of his personality. He toes the Patriot line in all the press conferences.
It's so weird to me that people view him so negatively.
He's a person who has worked hard to get where he is. He's (arguably, but not really) the best QB in the history of the NFL but he worked his butt off to become that. By all accounts he's a good man, good husband, good father. He doesn't gloat, doesn't play to the media.
And at a press conference recently, when asked why he gets along with the Coach, he said "Because I'm a player and I don't try to be the coach." I see so many players who ignore the coach's instructions and try to do what they want, I found this refreshing.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Yes, I'm a Pat's fan...have been since back when no one would admit to watching them!! But, now? It's a team effort. Sure, the QB comes off as the star, but that's not how Brady sees himself. He's attractive, some days more so than others...just like a lot of other people. He's not my 'type' but I still think he's attractive. And personality plays into that, to some extent. I'm sure that most people, in other parts of the country, don't get to see that part of Tom Brady that we get to see here. But, he's self effacing, doesn't seem arrogant at all, takes criticism well, is a team player. The team showed they can play without him. They just play better with him! Looks not withstanding! Now, Julian Edelman?? Now we're talking!!!Admittedly, I'm a Pats fan, but I totally agree with you. Chad Johnson gave an interview where he talked about his first day playing for New England. He said he walked into his first meeting and Belichick was yelling at Brady about mistakes in the previous game. He said on all his previous teams the QB was the star and the coaches never would have dared yell at them in front of anyone. He said instead of getting mad or taking offense Brady had a notepad out taking notes. He basically said this was the tone for the team, that they're a team and no one is a the star.
To me, that perspective is pretty impressive. A lot of people are labeling you as the best QB ever and you're not acting like you're the star.
As for looks, I think he is very attractive, most times. Ha ha. His hair when he came back this year was not great!
And someone upthread mentioned his child with Bridget Moynihan. She has herself said that they had been broken up for a while when she found out she was pregnant. She's also said that she has no issues with Tom or Gisele. When asked is she upset that Gisele parents their child she said why would she be? She said Gisele loves him as her own and how can having more loving people in his life be bad?
