Tom and Giselle's "diet"

Well I'm sure it's easy eating 80% vegetables and totally "clean" when you have a chef preparing and purchasing it all for you... just saying!
It's still wouldn't be easy. I don't have that kind of discipline even if someone was cooking for me. Good for them.

I wish I could eat that many greens. With a gut issue, the high fiber would spell trouble for me. I pass on grains most of the time myself, but like the diet, particularly the avoiding fungus foods. I'm not a fan of them myself.

Exactly. They have the money to stuff every bit of unhealthy food in their mouths they want but they have the discipline and smarts to not do it. It's the same as people claiming if they had a personal trainer they could look like a super model.

They eat healthy, most of what they eat is what I aspire to do. Sure, taco dip, beer, and jalapeno poppers make their way in to my diet at times, but really...how they eat is how we all should... And, it is easily done without a personal chef, really..

That's where I kind of disagree. A lot of the foods mentioned in the article, I've eaten and tried to cook at home. Many of the healthy grains (quinoa, amaranth, etc,) just taste really awful to me. However, I've also had some prepared by a talented cook who just has the skill levels I don't to make much of these taste good and still keep it healthy. I really don't have the time or patience to work on that. Unfortunately, some unhealthy foods taste pretty good without much effort so, there's where my problem lies when I'm in a crunch for time OR a crunch for the desire to cook and make it good.

This is where a personal chef would work for me.

I'm no chef but cooking quinoa and other grains is super simple. Use a rice cooker and it's dummy proof.

Of course it's simple. It just doesn't taste very good. There's a way to cook them and actually have flavor. I have it done by a chef. I don't have the skill to make it taste any better than white rice.

Just add a teaspoon of vegetable powder (bouillon) and it will taste amazing.

I admit I'm pretty picky when it comes to what I want my food to taste like. It just never measures up to what a professional chef makes. I'm betting the Brady's food tastes like "restaurant" food for every meal. I've already done the bouillon/broth quinoa thing. It just doesn't do it for me when I'm making it at home. I mean, I'll eat it but I can't say it's anything I want to stick with. However, professionally done by someone with skill would definitely make me stick with it better.

I feel the same way. I thought I didn't like quinoa, based on my home cooking. But I've since had dishes at a couple different restaurants that were very good. Good enough that I might take one more crack at cooking it myself. I think it definitely needs a flavorful sauce/dressing.

If they eat 80% veggies and 20% lean meat, good on 'em. I have no idea what they eat for breakfast but that is just too darn restrictive for me. I've reduced carbs/breads for a time but eventually you really want a piece of toast or a cracker. Damn.

Having a personal chef who would purchase and prepare the food would eliminate a lot of the bad and sometimes just lazy food decisions that I make. I think it could be like living at a spa where people go to lose weight because the spa controls what you eat.

I lost a lot of weight a few years back just by eating healthy. Low carbs and lots of fresh foods. But that was a tremendous amount of work. Shopping time increased greatly and found prep took more effort. I could see how a personal chef helps with that.

I see nothing wrong with them eating healthy and using a chef to do so. Why is that bad? I would eat much better than I do if I had a smidgen of discipline. I can't see doing much better because of that even if I had a chef.

My only concern would be for their children. I hope their chef knows about the nutritional requirements of young children. They need a good deal more fat than adults for proper development.

I avoid simple carbs as much as possible and honestly after a month or so they don't taste good. Bread and ice cream taste disgusting to me now.

I actually eat a very similar diet, just no animal products. I do include nightshade tomatoes. It was tough to give up bread but I've finally mastered it. Maybe it isn't for everyone, but there is no need to criticize Tom and Gisele for eating in a healthy manner. White quinoa tastes like rice and can be flavored. I lost my taste for simple carbs, sugar and other unhealthy foods but do really enjoy my fruits!

I eat a diet close to that except no animal flesh and lots of fruit. But I do not look like them. Funny how people worry when children do not eat process crap food. They act like it is horrible and poor children are missing something.

Totally! I'm a vegan and eat a very clean diet 90% of the time and I raised my kids the same way. Everyone was always worried about my kids and their lack of "protein" even though they were all extremely healthy.

No one ever confronts another parent about their kids soda, potato chips and candy habits as long as they get that magical nutrient "protein" that they thinks only comes from an animal.

Personal chefs and personal shoppers make it easy to eat healthy. I could not eat all those veggies with my gut, it would make me sick.

I don't really believe in diets. When I was young, I found out that diets made me think of food all the time. I would actually gain weight. So I decided not to diet, but to change when I eat my big meal. I eat a huge meal for breakfast everyday and I lost 15 pounds by doing that one thing.
