LA has freeways, so there is no toll, except for certain parts where you would pay to get in the carpool lane. From LAX to DL you take the 105 East -> 605 South -> 91 East -> 5 South. On the 91 you can get in the carpool/HOV lane and transition to the 5 while staying in that lane. Like Dina said, no tools.
