Renting a car and driving from MCO to Windsor Hills in October.
How many tolls and what is the cost?
I've read about SunPass with the rental car - I assume most offer it and it's relatively easy and cheap to add?

Finally, there are no tolls between Windsor Hills and WDW, correct?

What about Windsor Hills and Seaworld?

Thanks!

If you take the south exit of the airport which is 417 your tolls will be $3.00 each way. there are 2 $1.50 tolls to pay each way. Just take some one dollar bills and some quarters and you will be fine. No tolls between Windsor and WDW or Windsor and Sea World

I ran Google Maps, which suggests exiting 417 at Osceola Pkwy. If you exit there or at US-192, there will be an additional exit toll of $1 which requires exact change in coins.

All the toll roads have cash lanes on the far right which are relatively quick and easy to use.

If renting a car, all rental companies offer some option for using the Sun Pass lanes (either an equipped transponder or via license plate photos), but the fees for the "convenience" vary wildly - you really have to research the individual company's policy. I usually rent Alamo and their policy is the fairest - it's something like a $5 additional fee for each day you use a toll road, so for us that's basically $10 per trip since we never incur tolls anywhere but from MCO to our rental house (usually Windsor Hills, btw). So to avoid having to use the cash lanes, it's $10 per trip. You still have to pay the tolls though. Other rental companies get ridiculous - like up to $9.99 per day for every day of the rental.

There are various ways to save even more money if interested. Frequent travelers usually buy their own transponder for Sun Pass and bring it on trips.

so as long as I have 5 bucks in change leaving MCO I should be ok.

I'm only renting for one day and will be dropping off at the Car Care Center near Windsor Hills the next day once the rest of our group arrives with their car.
This is just for myself and my daughter since we are arriving a day earlier than the rest. :)

Actually you just need a $1-$2 in change, depending on which exit you take off 417. The mainline toll booths take paper money and give change, although having coins will let you use the exact change lanes and save a couple of minutes.

At the 2nd toll booth from the airport, John Young Pkwy, one of the attended lanes is a "Reload Lane" which issues new transponders and allows people to add money to their account, so the wait time per vehicle in line could be longer.
