Tokyo Disney pins?

Does anyone know if there are pins available at Tokyo Disney? a realative will be in Japan on business and i would love to surprise my kids (who take Japanese at school and who love pin collecting) with Tokyo Disney pins for Christmas. thanks for your help!

TDR has pins but I heard a rumor that they will not be regularly issuing new pins like DLP, DLR, and WDW do. The good news is they have pins at the Japanese Disney Stores. Hi again, Gene. Well found my way to the boards and found the post... but had to register and the account is not activated. So, here is the answer and you can post it on my behalf.

YES. There are pins at TDR! At the moment there are Halloween event pins (3 styles of flash pins, frame set, pooh family slider and also a Mickey dangle).

From Tuesday, November 4th there will be Xmas pins both at Disney Sea, Tokyo Disneyland, and the huge Bon Voyage shop. In fact, if they happen to go into Disney Sea on Nov. 4, 5 or 6, they will get a free pin with entry.

Disney Sea always has a large variety of pins in the park, but TDL does not have anything other than event pins now.

However, even if they dont actually go into either park, they can still buy pins at several locations at the resort.

1. Bon Voyage: sell most of the Xmas pins that can be found in Tokyo Disneyland and also there is a stand down the back corner that has older TDL pins and also a lot of the Disney Sea pins. (you wont find Disney Sea Xmas pins here though). Bon Voyage also carries a large variety of framed pin sets (expensive), but you have to look hard (last time they were mostly on display in the back corner on a shelf behind the registers) and you have to ask a CM to get a set for you.

2. Ambassador Hotel gift shop: They have several pins of their own with Mickey and Minnie on them and also often have some of the latest TDL event pins on the racks.

3. Mira Costa Hotel gift shop: Again they have their own range of pins and sometimes you can be lucky to find other Disney Sea pins too (not a lot, but some.. and maybe even an Xmas one).

Also, I expect that Ambassador hotel will have some kind of Xmas menu promotion that includes a gift pin.

Thank you for the great responses. I'm hoping this will work into a busy business trip! Are pins sold anywhere off of the Disney grounds? Are there Disney stores? By any chance is there a Disney store at the airport?

There are Disney Stores all over Japan. Ask your hotel concierge for help.
They should write in Japanese the address. Show it to your cab driver.
Make sure you have something with the hotel address on it in Japanese.
A book of matches from your hotel will do nicely. This is your emergency lifeline to get back to the hotel if you get lost.
I think that Janelle stated that you can buy pins in the Hotels at Tokyo Disneyland. I believe this means you do not have to pay admission to the parks. There may be special pins only available inside the parks. I haven't been there since 1987. Janelle lives in Tokyo and buys pins all the time. I suggest posting any further questions on the Dizpins Boards.
