Tokyo dining???

WE just returned from Disney and ate at Teppen Edo in Japan. It was great. Even the kids loved it. In fact the kids asked to go back there when we return to the World in November.

I didn't like it. We are trying Teppan Edo this trip, to see if we like it more.

At Tokyo Dining, I ordered the tempura and sushi combo, and it was awful. The tempura had no flavor what so ever, but it was heavy on grease. The sushi had a fishy smell and was slimy. I shouldn't have eaten more than the first bite, but I kept trying to make a meal out of it. I ate about half, and then stopped. I felt sick for the rest of the evening.

We like Tokyo Dining! We've eaten there 3 times and have an upcoming ADR for our September trip. We are 2 adults, so I don't know about the kids meals. We've tried different sushi dishes, tempura, green tea pudding, chocolate ginger cake, shrimp cocktail appetizer- all were great! The service was outstanding each time we've visited. We've never felt sick afterwards. The sushi was of high quality and we didn't find the tempura to be greasy. The last time we ate at Tokyo Dining was in December 2009.

We also enjoyed Tokyo Dining. We had the tempura, sushi and chicken. Although the sushi was not the best we had that week, it was still tasty. (California grill has the best sushi IMO) The tempura was very good and the green tea pudding was FANTASTIC!! I really crave that dessert!:goodvibes

The service was also very good and we had a great view as we were seated at a table by a window.:thumbsup2

We enjoyed Tokyo dining much more than Teppan Edo, which was just an average (at best) Hibachi Dinner.

It is on the dining plan.

We love Tokyo Dining...it's a must do for us....

Very good sushi...very fresh...I recommend the Volcano Roll...

I think the poster who didn't care for it must have gone on an off night....we find the food stellar...and the staff are lovely.

Using the DxDP we ate at Tokyo Dining for lunch in February and it was very good. Nice and quiet and relaxing, too with a great view.

We had sushi and a ginger salad there in May and we enjoyed it. The dining room has a good view and the service was excellent. The sushi was really good too.

Another thumbs up for Tokyo Dining! We tried it for the first time a couple of years ago, and we have ADRs there twice on our upcoming trip!

What sushi options were available on DxDP for lunch? Were there any sushi assortments (and what pieces were included)? Do you have a pic?

We enjoyed our meal there last summer.

What is in the bento box? That looks really good. Thanks!

Ate there last month, sushi was awesome.A little pricy but works of art.Service was first class and the ceremonial greeting at the opening was a nice touch.

Some kind of raw fish (I can ask DH if you need specific), chicken terriyaki, some seaweed stuff and tempura vegetable patty thing. (You can tell that DH and DD are the sushi lovers. Me, not so much.)

We ate there for the first time last year and LOVED it. We have ADRs for our next trip also. I agree with what the others have said..great food, some of the best service ever, wonderful view, nice light meal and wonderful food (yes, that green tea pudding is unreal).

Ate here for the first time last October. Loved it! :thumbsup2

Sorry it's pretty eaten I forgot to take pictures before.

The yellow bowl held seaweed salad, the white plate had some sushi, in the back in the tempura of veggies

Green Tea Pudding. Took some getting used too but wasn't all too bad!

I like Tokyo Dining enough, but I'm in no rush to return. The sushi is decent but not spectacular. I don't consider it a destination restaurant.
