DH loves...LOVES Sushi and the menu at Tokyo japan looks very appealing. How does it work, however, on the meal plan? I notice many of the entree items are sushi and only priced at $5-8 each. Certainly not enough to be a "meal" for the average man....and seems a waste of a dining credit if you only get one of those picks. Any tips/ideas on how to get the most bang for the buck there, for someone who loves sushi?

Or, slightly off topic....would it just be better all around to go to Teppan Edo?

THANKS in advance!! :surfweb:

We ate there twice last month with the Deluxe plan. Both times, I ordered the Sashimi and Tempura combination for my entree. It was simply heavenly for any Japanese foodie. Try the green tea pudding. IMO, it was the best dessert from Tokyo Dining.

Umm, thanks for the info ! So you think that combo would be enough for a grown man to enjoy as a meal? (I am NOT a sushi fan but I do know that he can easily have 3-4 orders of sushi as an appetizer when we go out)

Anyone have pix of their platters?

Thanks again!

We're eating here in a week and I also would like to know what you are able to get on the DXDP

We are eating there the day we arrive 8/25. We planned our trip very late and it was one of the only ressies we could get that night. I think a lot of people are worried about the same issue. DH and I could eat a ton of sushi. DS likes it, but DD doesn't. Add to the problem is that we are vegetarian. Are we stuck with tempura combo? We are worried about DH being 'underfed.' :) (We like to keep him happy!)

Can you have raw fish in your diet? If so, you're in luck. The tempura portion of the combo is plentiful. It has 2 large shrimp tempura, 2 jumbo scallop tempura, a piece each of sweet potato, squash, fresh shiitake mushroom tempura. There's a small portion of seaweed salad and a bowl of rice too. As for what's available for appetizers, I had the tofu salad with their sesame dressing. It's funky but good. The other time, I had shrimp cocktail (standard fare)
My son might have a pic or two of Tokyo Dining's combo box. I will post them if I can my son to wake up now...:lmao:

I was kind of thinking the same thing. When I get sushi, I usually order a bunch of rolls, but is that considered a meal?

Yes, if you order the sushi and tempura combo meal, you will get a couple of rolls cut plus the tempura too. (I don't remember what kind you will get)

Not sure my DH would go for the Tempura (that's coated/fried, right?) .... he is asian and likes the sushi and sashimi, the more exotic the better. :earboy2: And like the others, he can easily consume a lot of rolls and won't be filled up with just a few. If your son is up :rotfl: and willing to share some of his combo pix, I'd greatly appreciate it!! pooh:
