Did I see correctly that Tokyo Dining has plenty of tempura entrees? Neither DH nor I are big fans of sushi and we really liked Teppan Edo, but we're thinking of trying a new place - esp. one we might not have to make an ADR for for a late lunch. And we love tempura anything . . . .

Would it be odd to go there for something besides the sushi though?

If you like tempura then you will enjoy Tokyo Dining. I don't eat sushi and tempura is what I ate for lunch in December there.

If you are trying for a late lunch you should be able to get in without much difficulty as many people go to Teppan Edo instead.

I don't think it would be odd at all! Tokyo Dining is the successor to the older Tempura Kiku, and while the ambiance and setting is much different (I think much better), the menu does build on the former's.

I'm more of a sushi fan than a tempura fan but I have to say, the tempura at TD is excellent! We did sushi as an appetizer and split the shrimp and scallop tempura entree and it was soo good! I don't think it would be odd at all to skip the sushi. Enjoy!

the tempura there is wonderful- my kids loved it. It's a great place to dine for less crowded restaurants.

Best tempura we've had since living in Okinawa! Beautiful restaraunt too!

Definitely odd. Tokyo Dining has a full Japanese menu, not just sushi. I actually prefer the hot dishes to the sushi there. I don't quite trust the sushi enough, honestly.

It sounds like I may be the only one here, but my family was very disappointed with the tempura at TD. In fact, I would say it is not tempura at all, but closer to fish and chips batter.
