Toilet Paper for RVs

How to discuss? Toilet Paper recommendations.... I am trying to find a better recyclable toilet paper product and figure this is a good place to go!

Recyclable? After it goes in the toilet- it is not likely to be recycled haha. We get Scotts RV TP in the RV section at Walmart.
I think you can use any septic safe TP- but some are just so rough and thin you have to use too much anyway.

Thanks trying to avoid crappy toilet paper ...but also want one that dissolves when flushed.
So Disney does not issue tissue recommendations while camping at the Fort?

I echo RWC's recommendation. We use Scotts Septic safe both in coach and at home. It doesn't cause problems at home and hasn't in RV to date either

I just use reguler scotts tolet paper. I dont get the rv specific type. Never had a problem, in the TT black tanks or the pups cassette tolet, It dissolves just fine.

One can get rolls of TP that you wish to use. Put water in a small mason jar, add one or two squares, shake and let set. See how long it takes to break down. This subject is highly debated across all the RV forums. One might just as well ask which brand of water to drink.

DH grew up camping in different types of RVs. His family has always used the same TP they use in their house. Over 50 years, never had any issues.

Harbor Freight Catalog works fine.

Northern Tool also, but those books are few and far between.

Used special (read pricey) RV toilet paper for first RV at first, started using whatever we used in the house soon after, and after 53+ years have never looked back. It works just as well, and we've never had any issues. If it's good for our septic system at home, it's good enough for our RV.

The only recyclable toilet paper I know of is if you use cloth toilet paper and wash in the washing machine, and we just aren't that crunchy.
Like RWC, we use the Scott's RV or the Thedford RV TP from the RV & Automotive dept at Walmart. We also use toilet chemical and have had no issues.

My wife buys whatever one ply she likes. we use lots of water and I do a heavy flush of the black tank when we leave a site. I also put around 5 gallons of fresh water in the black tank before we leave.

We were using our 'home' tp in our rv for awhile, but we did have clogging problems. Switched to Scotts and no problems since. (we used the good old ice-in-the-tank method to clean things up)

Use a single ply but be sure to double fold or your risk finger poke thru.

I am embarrassed to admit but I am actually asking because of advice from plumber . I live on 3 rd floor and constantly having clogged toilet . Apparently the brands I like don’t dissolve so I was hoping to get to the bottom of toilet paper advice from all you friendly honest campers surviving in the Wilderness!

Ok, so real quick, how old is the plumbing and whats clogging? How hard is the water in the area? Is it flushing correctly? Is it a first generation low flow toilet? Lots of these things point to getting a new toilet, if its not a use less paper issue. Sometimes the bottem jet in a toilet needs the main water hole to get reamed out as it get build up on it from hard water. Thats the jet that pushes the stuff down the drain. Good luck. I would get a new toilet, they work better then some of the original low flows, and or older ones if they have significant scale build up inside them. If its the sewer lines, thats another issue entirely, and depends on venting and what its made of. Good luck.

Just watched a recent youtube video from Eric - Nomadic Fanatic , who did a "best" RV toilet paper test .
Very UN-scientific , but he did try to simulate actual RV conditions better than most . Suprisingly , the "Scotts for RV's" performed the worst in all tests , lol . In the end its not all about what kind of TP, but to not let it build up "dry" so to speak .
