Tofu at Teppan Edo

Hi

We've booked Teppan Edo for the first time for this trip. I am a vegetarian, and was wondering what Teppan Edo offer, is it just veggies & noodles? or do they offer eggplant or tofu?

Another big prob with this one is I dont think DD10 will eat here! I take it when they cook the chicken or beef its not spicy? She may eat those.

We are going as DH has always wanted to go!

I don't think they do tofu or anything special. From what I have read here the vegetarian meal is an extra helping of noodles and veggies.

They don't seem to spice the meat with anything other than salt and pepper. Maybe some soy sauce, but as the chef is cooking right at the table, you can likely ask them to leave that out of certain orders. You're given sauces for dipping. The kid should be fine if she's okay with the unorthodox method of cooking.

I thought that about the meat cooking, Im the only veggie in family, so she has no probs with eating meat.

The veggies look great anyway.

Another thing to think about as a vegetarian there...

If you are super strict, make sure to ask that your food is prepared first. All of it is cooked on one big top. If you are super strict, this may be an issue for you.

Just a thought. Saw this happen before at a local place.

Agree with PP. If you are strict, you MUST ask the chef to do your meal first... otherwise the grill will be "tainted" with meats and seafood (depending on the other orders). In my experience, it was just extra noodles and veggies - so I was far from impressed. I need protein, and I just didn't feel like TE had a "balanced" veggie meal. Perhaps this has changed in the last year... maybe someone with more recent trip experience can chime in!
