Toe ring?

This may seem like a really off-the-wall question, but has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with wearing a toe ring through security? The reason I am asking is that I wear a toe ring that is pretty difficult to remove, so much so that I haven't taken if off in a very long time. Does anyone know if I will be required to remove it, or will being able to show it to the agent be sufficient? :confused3

I wear rings on my fingers all the time and never have an issue. I can't imagine a toe ring would make a difference if you are going through the metal detector. If you are going through the new scanners, I've read you're supposed to remove all jewelry, but I don't know how sensitive the scanners are and if a single ring would cause a problem. If you go through the scanner and it does pick it up, they'll either decide it's fine or that you need to be patted down.

I typically wear a gold necklace, earrings, ring, bracelet, watch, through the metal detector and have never had a problem.

I think it will just depend on how sensative your airport's metal detector is. I have set one off by just having a gum wrapper in my pocket. My brother in law was patted down because of his belt.

I think all of you who wear jewelry thru security are a brave, and maybe a teeny bit crazy. And I mean that in the nicest way possible! I wouldn't do it Anything I can do to avoid setting of the WTMD or being pulled for the "enhanced" patdown I am going to do. And that includes no jewelry thru secuity. My watch goes in my carry-on and I put it on after I am cleared.

I don't know about anyone else, but my wedding band stays on my finger at ALL times. I've never had a problem w/ the metal detectors.

With that said, if Security wants me to remove it, I will happily do so.

I always keep my watch on and it has never set off the detector. A ring should be fine.

Rings, necklace, earrings, watch--I wear all of them and have never had a problem.
