I'm looking for suggestions for decorating my 2.5 year old daughter
s bedroom. She just recently has been asking to dress like a princess and is very excited about meeting Cinderella. Need some suggestions for how to decorate - even the basic stuff like bedding. Thanks for your help.

Well My two little DD's have a princess themed room, I have a twin size bed and a toddler bed ( just moved her to the toddler bed) Both of them have the princess bedding, a twin comforter I got at Kmart for 39.99 and sheets from them as well, and the baby has her princess crib bedding!!!! I painted there room yellow per request from the older one, and put up princess Stickers as a boarder, available at HomeDepot, for 12.99 and they are removable, baby tried it,lol....or some Double tree dollar stores have them for a dollar, Daddy bought them some posters and we also have a cute dress up area with the Disney princess mirror that daddy indulged them with, Pretty pricey, 40.00(homeDepot) But they love to dress up and look at them selves in the mirror, They were given a beautiful lamp with all 3 princess on it also availble Homedepot........ If you sew or have someone who sew's they sell Disney princess fabric, I made the baby a comforter when she was born and they have a whole bunch of pillows I made for their reading corner.....I know Target just came out with new princess and tinkerbell bedding, cant seem to get my older one to have a tinkerbell themed room, oh well I can always have hope for the baby!!!! She calls her bellbell!!!!
wish I could show you a pic, there room is pretty and I love spending time in there, if you are looking for bedding for a toddler bed, Walmart has it and so does Toys R Us!!!
Good Luck!!!And have fun, Their room was my favorite to decorate!!! princess:

The princess blinds are just adorable! They also make a complete Princess bedroom door princess: !

Target, KBToys and I think KMart, have the Disney Princess Headboard. It fits any twin bed and toddler bed.

It is fabric, shaped like a crown with 3 princess on it. I paid $39.99 for it on Sunday at KBToys. We took the rails off DD's crib so she thinks she has a big girl bed and loves the princesses.
It is definately worth it.

Walmart had hook shelf and fabric bins. DD hangs her dress up clothes on them and puts toys in bins. They also have a mirror - inexpensive shaped like a crown and says "princess". I hung it at DD's level.

My daughter too wanted and had a Princess Room. Last year Santa brought & set up a really pretty pink canopy (from JCPenney was pretty inexpensive as well) - the ends look like a castle. The greatest part is that it is simple to set up and does not hinder the ability to get in & out of bed. DD still can't believe that Santa set up the canopy while she was sleeping in her bed. :cool1:

We did a much cheaper version of this bed/mural:

princess bed/castle mural

We had a local artist paint a castle on the wall---but you could do this yourself or buy a castle mural from ebay.

Then, instead of the crown coronet topper, we just did the tulle canopy that you can find everywhere these days. Or, disneyshopping.com sells a much cheaper crown topper.

Happy decorating!

We're moving DD to her new full-size bed on Friday. Even though her room is painted with a mural to look like France, I decided since she is so princess-crazed that decorating the bed with princesses would be a good transition. We bout a comforter at Wal-Mart for $39.97, then bought the sheet set from the outlet store at www.disneyshopping.com for about $22 and the Home Sweet Castle lamp for $23.xx. Wal-Mart has a Cinderella throw pillow for $12.xx and a very cute light-up PVC lamp for $9.97, which is great as a nightlight.

FIngers crossed that the move goes well.

Poshtots.com sells a fantasy coach for $47,000. They build it in the room. I can't seem to get the link to work to show you guys.

we bought dd the bed set from walmart for her twin bed. got the stickers at toysrus last year also got a growth chart. cinderella lamp at walmart. clock radio at target. mirror at homedepot for 9.99 clearance.

I learned the hard way not to do wallpaper, borders or stickys on the wall when my DD was 2. she ripped it all down at naptime. :(

the 2nd time around, we painted the walls, she wanted blue. I found a princess comforter (Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty) at Kmart. it has a pretty mauve/pink background. I was in Home Depot trying to match the blue on Cinderella, when the clerk pointed out the Disney colors section. The paint color we picked is literally called "Cinderella Ball Gown Blue", the lighter blue on the comforter is "Bibbity Bobbety Blue"

I have white eyelet valances up, and princess posters she picked on the wall.

If she decides she's done with princesses, I just have to get a new comforter, and take down a couple of posters. Easy to change!

my youngest DD's room is done the same way, lemonade yellow walls, white valance, and a Dora comforter. There is yellow in it, so it looks nice against the wall.

You're in for the overhaul of your life.
One, Disney is teamed up with Home Depot, so you will find a whole lot there.
There are about three different princess lamps, a princess mirror, the princess doors, wallpaper (if you want to go that far), borders, paint stamps, wall stickers, area rugs, canopy, . Of course you have to use the disney paint. Sometimes if they're nice, they'll color match the disney colors to a cheaper paint.
And if you are rich (like we all are...) you can get the princess bedroom set at rooms to go kids, or go all out with the Cinderalla coach bed. And if you look in the catalog, most the borders and such can be found at home depot.

And find some one that can paint or go to a craft shop for stencils, lots of ribbons and bows, and pretty little flowers are a must.

My girls begged for a princess room after our first trip to Disney. But we really couldn't afford a total makeover. So we just used a pic of the castle, xeroxed it onto a sheet of transparancy, borrowed a projector from the library and painted the castle on the big wall in their room. We enlarged and framed several pics of the princesses, and used a cheapo stencil of Cindy and glass paint on the their window. They loved it and it cost less than $20!!!

works for me! :cheer2:

We are in the process of moving into a new house in the suburbs. Escrow just closed today, actually. I decided to go all out and decorate DDs bedroom in princess theme. So far I’ve purchased:

- Princess Tiara and Sleeping Beauty Pink paint from Home Depot
- Princess bedding from Target
- Princess ceiling fan that I found on ebay
- Princess tiara wall hooks that I found on ebay
- Once upon a time sign that I found on ebay
- Crown pillows
- Princess Animated lamp from shop.com
- Cinderella Castle mural I bought online at create-a-mural and matching princess stickers

My father-in-law is making crown headboards and castle bookshelves.

I am still looking for a princess nite-lite and drawer knobs. Then I think I’ll have everything. Though, I bet I will think of something, once I physically get in there.

The painters go in on Monday and I cannot wait to see what the paint looks like on the walls. I am having more fun decorating their room, then the rest of the house.

I am stuck on a theme for the basement playroom. Any ideas? Disney or not. I have two girls (4 and almost 2) and baby #3 on the way (who knowing our genes will be a girl as well). I was thinking either dress-up doll-house type thing, or fairies. What do think?

There are Princess night-lights at Toys R Us and Menards.

I would think the cheapest way to do a themed bedroom is to use paint to create the theme...I see a huge mural of a castle, a coach, princesses, etc...

I recently did a Spiderman room for my boys for about $600 total, including furniture.

I advertised on craigslist.com for a mural painter. I described the project I wanted done and my price range and have several aspiring artists contact me. In the end I got a huge comic strip style Spiderman mural (speech bubbles and all) that takes up two walls for $400.

I got Spiderman comic strip style comforters and sheet sets from Target for about $50. I got used wood dressers from the thrift stores and painted them myself in a bright fire engine red color to match Spidey's mural.

The amazing mural is what makes the room...again...advertise on craigslist is there is a city near you and you'll find someone who can do it for less.
