Looking for lil info for anyone who travels with a toddler bed or inflatable bed, looking for some reviews on size, packability for air travel and comfort. Maybe a brand name or 2 that you have used or suggest...Thanks

We fly when we travel, so bringing such a thing along isn't really a good option for us. What we do instead is make a nest on the floor.

When we arrive I call housekeeping and ask for a full change of bedding including 2 pillows, a bedspread, a blanket and two sheets, and I tell them that I plan on making up a bed for the toddler on the floor. When I get the bedding I fold up the bedspread triple into a pad, put that on the floor and tuck one of the sheets to completely cover it, then put the other sheet and blanket on top of that for top covers. Since it is usually made up between a bed and a wall, I put the extra pillow next to the bed to keep DD from rolling under the edge of it.

I've had some hotel housekeepers pick up my nest when they clean, but the Mousekeepers always treat it as another bed and make it up neatly, even leaving towel animals on it.

I am renting a toddler bed (I know it was not your original question, but thought I would throw another option out there) from A Baby's Best Friend. It is about $75 for a week, less for 3-4 days. It comes with sheets, comforter, and pillowcase in Disney motif. It comes fully assembled and ready for you at your resort when you arrive. I have rented from them before and they are awesome. I also wanted to add they have a nice-looking airbed for toddlers at One Step Ahead, it has different sides to keep your child from rolling off. It is about $100. I don't have one, but heard it is great.

We have the peapod plus which can hold up to a 5 year old. We brought it on our last trip but when we learned that we had a room wtih 2 queens I asked for bed rails and DS slept GREAT on the bed. I'm bringing it when we go up today but will leave it in our car hoping that CSR will have bed rails when we arrive so we can do the same.

We use a little inflatable bed that has a sleeping bag on top. I don't remember the brand, but it is Lightning McQueen and we got it at Target for about $25. We fly and this works well...isn't real heavy and doesn't take up a lot of room in the suitcase.

DS3 does tend to roll off of it a lot. We learned to put it up against the wall or put some of the throw pillows from the bed around it. It is also a little noisy when he rolls around. Usually he sleeps like a log through the night, but in the morning when he starts to move around a bit more he then comes over and hops in bed with us. That is fine with me as long as he sleeps in it the bulk of the night. I hate having him in bed with us.....makes for a miserable mommy and daddy (PS...usually stay in a villa with us in the king bed in the bedroom and my mom on the pullout in the living room so there isn't a bed for him).

Hi Puffkin! This is exactly what happens with our youngest - same bed from Target, Lightning McQueen, rolls off, makes noise, gets into our bed, it's OK as long as he sleeps most the night, etc! I could have written this exact same post!

Target, Walmart etc sell "Ready Beds" with many of the kids characters on them (princesses, dora, diego etc) they are toddler size air mattresses (most come with a little hand pump in the box) with an attached sleeping bag. We have used them on 2 cruises- when the kids were too little to put up in the bunks. work great- fold up and fit in the bottom of the suitcase & don't take up much room @ all in the room/ cabin during the day.

I used one for years that my kids loved - it's the Aerobed brand "sleepaway bed". It is smaller than a twin, but still plenty big, and has raised sides. It was so comfortable for them, and comes with it's own mattress pad and travel bag. We've brought it as a carry-on as well as just checked it in its bag. It never got damaged or anything that way, either. I highly recommend that one! It's a bit more (about $100) but it was so worth it! I would just call housekeeping for extra sheets, a blanket and an extra pillow wherever we were staying. I always put one clean flat sheet down on the carpet underneath it, for sanitary reasons. Yes, I'm a bit anal about that.

just read your post - yes, that is the one we have! We did get it from that store I think, but now other places carry them. The raised sides made a big difference.
