Let me preface this with I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but I figured it's a family question. I need to find a bag to take with me to Disney next year that I will be able to also use for everyday. Right now I have a diaper bag for my DS (15 mos old) but I would like to try to consolidate everything into a smaller bag to fit under the stroller (hoping to find a reasonably priced Mac Triumph or Quest). My DS will be 26 mos by the time we go so I know I'm going to need to bring diapers, snacks, extra clothes in case he gets wet/dirty, wipes, water bottle, sunscreen and of course, my personal stuff like a camera, wallet, hand sanitizer, ponchos, sunglasses and anything else I'll probably need.

I've been looking at the Vera Bradley bags but not sure which one would be easy to carry/use and would hold everything. I thought about a backpack so that I could easily carry onto the rides but not sure if it would fit easily under the stroller. Or should I get a Vera Bradley hipster type or tote and smaller diaper bag. Can't seem to find a smaller diaper bag that will easily get of the stroller (I have one now that I put under my Graco but it's hard to put in and take out and then the bottles of milk spill) so I definitely need something smaller that won't let anything spill. KWIM?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

PS Don't want to spend alot on the bag either. Boy I'm so demanding. :rotfl:
TIA!!

I have a smaller Graco diaper bag that I switched to when DS was about 18 months. It still has bottle pockets on the sides and compartments in the inside but it's much more compact than a big diaper bag. I got it for about $15 at BRU and it's become my everyday bag for him.

I also purchased this

and I was able to store diapers and wipes and napkins, stuff that I didn't care if I left in the stroller. Plus the cup holders actually work!

I use the Vera Bradley Cargo Sling as my every day diaper bag/purse combo and I love it. It's roomy enough to hold a decent amount of stuff, plus it has 2 small pockets on the outside front that have magnetic button flaps to store stuff (like my camera) and a pocket on each side of the bag that is the perfect size for sunscreen/sippy cups.

I'm wondering now if they don't make this style anymore because when I searched for it on the website, this was the only one that came up: http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?Sku=10327&
I was able to get mine in the Daisy Daisy print for Mothers Day...

But hey if you're not picky about the print this is a GREAT price for this bag....

I am still using my old Lands End backpack diaper bag (it's not too big) as a park bag, and my youngest are 6! It's held up very well, since I bought it over 13 years ago.

We use a back pack. I think at 26 months you won't have to worry about bottles spilling. We pack diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer and a change of clothes. When we do bottles we use powdered formula. We just put the right amount of powder in the bottle and then add bottles water and shake. So worries about spills.

You might also check target.com in their diaper bag section. In the $25-$49 range they have several that might suit your needs. There are a couple by skip hop that have an adjustable handle that you could extend and wear cross body if you wanted to be hands free and they also have extra straps on either side that can clip around your stroller handles. Just a thought. Good luck in your search!

What we did was carry a backpack, but while DD was in the stroller, looped the pack over the handles, so neither of us really had to carry it much. Worked really well. We had a Volo with us.

Shelly, can you wear this bag like an actual sling -- where the strap goes across your chest? Or does it have to hang like a purse? I am forever pulling my purse back up on my shoulder and don't want to be doing that all day in the park.

Also, are Vera Bradleys easy to clean? I know they are hugely popular with moms and I am wondering why, specifically?

Thanks!

I have the same question regarding the bag. I really would like something that I can put across my body or on my back especially when I'm picking up my DS. I don't want to hit him on the head when I'm bending down to pick him up (been there done that with my purse :rotfl: the poor thing).

I really like the VB backpack but it's a little out of my price range, hopefully they will have a sale on the discontinued prints and I'll be able to get it cheaper. I will definitely check out Target to see if there is anything I like that will be useful.

Thank you everyone for your useful tips. If anyone has VB sale codes, let me know. That will come in handy as well.

What about something like this and a small cross body bag? I have one and like it. It doesn't hold much but can hold things like bandaids, tylenol, things you don't need to carry with you on the rides. It will hold a couple of diapers and a small travel case of wipes too. I got mine on clearance and sometimes you can find them on Amazon for cheap if you aren't picky about the color.

Edited to add: Image isn't showing up but google skip hop saddlebag or see www.skiphop.com

Yes...mine has an adjustable strap so I can wear it across my chest if I'd like...which I do sometimes depending on where I am.

Also - it's fabric, but I've gotten used to carrying a Tide To Go Stick in my purse (learned that one quick with a toddler!!) and it seems to get the stains out of the bag if any should happen...DH spilled a can of pepsi on it once and it came out. It does have a decent amount of pocket space on the inside as well.

I also have the Hipster in another (retired) pattern and love that as well, it's smaller, so if I'm kid free and think to switch bags, I will. :) HTH!!

I LOVE the Vera Bradley bags but alas, I am too cheap to get one! I know DH will want to bring his daypack which is fine by me! But for shorter night trips or trips to other hotels to "sightsee" at night I wanted a new bag myself. I actually ended up ordering one from a seller on etsy. I just ordered it last night and can't wait to get it! Super cute and was only $35! Go to etsy and just search diaper bags, huge range of styles and patterns and from most sellers you can mix and match!

I received the suggestion of using this bag from the Disboards when we took DS 3 years ago. Still use the bag today - it is great. - Ok won't let me post a link but it is the baggallini messanger bag - I got it from Shoebuy.com .It easily holds everything we needed for DisneyWorld and I use the bag now when taking the kids out.
