Ok, for those who read this thread, sorry for not posting the history lesson of the day. I've been a little absent minded lately. Ok, on to the lesson. Let's see...
Today in:
1783, Latin American Revolutionary Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas.
1862, the eighth President of the United States, Martin Van Buren, dies in Kinderhook, N.Y.
1866, Tesnnessee became the first state to be readmitted to teh Union after the Civil War.
1959, during a visit to the Soviet Union, Vice President Richard M. Nixon engaged in a "Kitchen Debate" with Soviet Leader Nikita Khrushchev at a US exhibition
1969, the Apollo 11 astronauts splashed down safely in the Pacific.
Hope you liked the lesson for the day. I'll see everyone later. Today's lesson was brought to you by The Boston Globe, because I can't remember it all.
