Today to save or earn money I.....

This is more of a personal challenge to myself but I'm hoping making it public will keep me 'honest'. I'm really interested to hear what others are doing. I am kind of hoping to save up for a trip to London over Christmas Break 2012 so anything I can do towards that is a definite bonus!

Today I sewed a button onto my sons jeans. This may seem like a small thing but my son has an unusual size & normally I have to buy used pairs off of eBay to get some that are under $70. By replacing the button (it wasn't even the original as that one had broken off) I keep myself from having to buy a new pair for a little longer & hopefully cheaper.

I am staying home. While it sounds like not a big thing, it seems I can't leave the house without spending money. I will run an errand, which means I will need to stop for gas, which means while I am out I will do (?) which will cost more. The more I can stay home, the more money I can save!

staying home today to take down Christmas tree and such. I will be going out later yo pick up a pizza, I will be using a coupon for this purchase.

Sent in the $75 rebate for our new refrig. It was the last day and I did a proof of mailing just for extra in case they want it etc.

I am staying home and not being tempted by end of the year sales.

I am also making pizza and appetizers at home instead of doing take out.

Went to a garage sale. Bought a nice Hawaiian shirt for DH, a shoebox half full of Matchbox cars for DS, three Christmas ornaments, a book and a few odds and ends for $6.

Went by Staples to get their free eco-bags. Had three coupons, so three of us made a small purchase and got a bag each. Spent approximately $2 for 200 push pins and two hand sanitizers.

Had a $15 Half Off Depot certificate for our favorite bbq place, so lunch was under $2 cash.

Free concert at the local visitors center. Always fun.

Gas for the car. Too expensive.

Groceries. No cents off coupons but three coupons for free items.

We're ready to settle in for the holiday weekend now.

Took an extra client at work today to make a little extra money. And didnt' stop at Burger King for a burger on the way home. Just starved till I got home and could eat lentil soup!!

Just home from vacation, and really wanted to just pick up a carryout pizza on my way home from grocery shopping. That would have cost about $22. Instead I picked up Stouffer's french bread pizza's and a bagged salad while at the store for about $7. Yummy, easy, and a big savings!

I'd like to thank the person who left the 55 cent coupon on the shelf at the grocery store for the product I needed. The store doubles coupons up to 99 cents.

I saved $1.10. Hey, it's better than nothing.

I'm going to get rid of most of my Vera Bradley stuff. I'm going to put them on ebay since there are too many weirdos on Craigslist here.
