Today Show firings

Just saw on yahoo that Willie Geist & Natalie Morales got fired....say it isn't so...those 2 are my favorites. OTOH not so much Tamron & Al. Hope the story isn't true...

Just read the firings might not be permanent. NBC moved to fire the general manager who was supposedly the driving force behind the move to get rid of the two of them immediately after he fired them. Guess he'd only been on staff two months.

I can't watch the morning news shows because I'm at work, but my parents do and they do not watch Today because they don't like Tamara or Al, or really Matt either...

After everything Matt went through after the Ann Curry debacle, he's got to be so annoyed by these new rumors.

I'm meh on both Natalie and Willie - I like Natalie when she is paired with Jenna Bush Hager, but on her own she's just "there.."

I have no strong feelings on Willie at all.

IMHO Willie and Natalie are terrific and their removal (?) from Today Show is awful. Both are outgoing and charismatic. I hope this is someone's idea of a joke, poor at best.

The way I heard it was that there was a new executive in charge of Today hired a couple of months ago that wanted Natalie and Willie out, but they along with Matt, Al and Savannah went to his boss as a group and complained about the new exec...and that he is the one that is going to be removed. I could be very wrong though...you know how reliable news reports are.

I like Natalie better than Savannah most of the time. She did a great job filling in.

I don't particularly like the 9-10 format where they all sit around and gossip but I know that's what all the stations are doing now. I do think that group talks well with eachother even though I don't really like that format.

I would be sad to see them go.

I'm hope it's not true, for Willie at least, I really like him!! Natalie...is pretty boring and dry so I could do without her. I liked Hoda filling in when Savannah was out, she has great energy and is funny. I'd rather see Hoda without Kathie Lee.

Didn't Natalie have an affair with Matt during the Olympics one year? Willie's okay. Can't stand the rest of them and don't watch the show anymore. Used to be my go-to morning show. Now, I usually watch Al Jazeera and BBC. All the star "pre-movie" interviews are dull as can be.

So glad it was a rumor as I really like Willie. Natalie is kinda like watching paint dry and though I used to like Matt, I think it's time for the show to go in a new direction. Don't even get me started on Hoda and KLG...

The writing is on the wall for a shakeup when nbc hired Josh Elliot from ABC. He will be on the Today Show sooner rather than later, that's what I think.

The producer who was fired came from espn. Guess who else came from espn? But even though they haven't fired anyone yet, nbc didn't hire Josh Elliot from ABC and GMA to do features on Sunday Night Football.

I think NBC also owns the Weather Channel. Sam Champion works for TWC now. Wouldn't be surprised if he also moves to Today although he might like what he's doing now and is not looking to move to the morning again. He did that for a long time.
