Leaving soon for our trip (3 nights=30 dollars to valet) Will need to go in and out at least once a day, on one day twice. Is it worht it?? Any advice?? How far is the walk to the parking lot??

We always valet...it is just easier for us but then again we do not need to use our car the entire time we are there

We valet parked the whole week we were there last month. The walk to the lot isn't bad, but it sure was nice to have the car waiting for us when we walked out the front doors--nice and cool with the A/C running, since it was 90's most days. We never actually drove to theme parks (the buses were great) but used it to go to DTD a couple times, both waterparks, other resorts (Poly & BC) and Discovery Cove. The system is set up so you can't be charged more than once per night so going to other resorts is no additional charge, that's what we were told and it was correct for us, but we checked @ check-out to be sure. For the week, it was $70 + tip, so compared to all we were already spending, I considered it a great deal and a nice treat. It took convincing at first, but even DH was happy we valeted.

One of the many reasons I love deluxe stays is the convenience of valet. The walk from the lot isn't that bad, but I do like just pulling up, hopping out, and leaving the truck. I think the fee is well worth the service.

When there is valet to be had...we valet. Especially with the kids, it's just easier.

Now, with DVC membership, we'll be paying for it less often (tipping for it, but not paying for it) since many of the resorts we visit are DVC "homes".

Last year when at the AKL we were not charged for valet service. We arrived and left our car there for 4 days, never using it. Anyone know if that is still the policy?

I just got back to answer my own question Valet was worth it. I don't know how far the self parking was exactly, but the $10 a day is defineltly worth it and if you call before you walk out of your room the car is just waiting for you.
