To those who bought their DDE in the parks...

Where did you buy it? Can it be purchased at your resort? Also do you get a plastic or paper card?

I had to renew my DDE in person because I forgot to do it before my trip. I had to go to a park or downtown disney guest services. The card is unfortunately paper. You can only get a plastic one if it's mailed to you.

It's made of the same material as the APs (which is Tyvek according to many posters).

We've had APs made with that material for years. It's very tough. And it takes less space than a plastic card.

Last year when are card was mailed to us it was a plastic card. When we were there in January we purchased our card at MK in the Guest Relations office and we were given a paper card; it's the same material as a ticket you would use to enter the park.

I agree, just wanted to note that the plastic one is still mailed out to you if you order over the phone. We ordered late December for a mid-January arrive and was surprised that it was still the hard plastic type. The only difference now is your name is no longer on the front (raised). It is printed on the back of the card now.
