Man, I'm just itching to try that new restaurant at AKL that's opening in early May. BUT - we didn't even like Boma, so would it be crazy to try Sanaa? I love AKL, and wandering around the place...DD & her friend will be with us and they've never seen AKL so thought it'd be fun to take them there too.

Have seen the pictures of the entrees, and some look interesting & sound like we could find something we'd like...

Just don't know what to do! We love trying new places/new tastes, but afraid it'll be like Boma all over again...do you think they'll be duplicating the flavors of Boma, or different variety? For those who have been to Jiko & Boma, did you feel Jiko was just the same food as Boma, only fancier? Or was it more subtle?

Do you like Indian food? Most of the food will be Indian inspired with the same spices, etc. I love it so I can't wait to try!

We feel Jiko and Boma are totally different and both fantastic. We can't wait to try Saana.

However..if you didn't like Boma, or thought that Boma and Jiko were the same, I would recommend that you skip Saana.

Yeah, I don't think Jiko and Boma are anything alike. Also, after looking at pics and hearing about the offerings, if you didn't like Boma, I'd stay away from Saanaa.

But curiosity has me ask, what didn't you like about Boma that makes you look at pics of Saanaa offerings and think you might like it? Most that don't like Boma think it is too "spicy". I thought Boma had so much to offer that there was no one that wouldn't like it.

These boards have opened my eyes to what people really feel about their food!!! While I am a HUGE fan of V&A, I am also not picky about my food...I never knew people could be so critical about food and service!!!

I like Boma. I looked at the pics of the Sanaa food and we would definitely not enjoy that menu.

While I don't know how spicy (hot) the food at Sanaa would be, I am sure the flavors would be different. Just not my thing. I am interested in seeing the whole menu and hearing what folks think after the restaurant is open.
