For those that made it to Round 3, was your video the same memory that you wrote about or different? I don't really think that made a difference either way, but I am curious!

I don't think it made a real difference either. I wrote about a memory from when I was a teenager at DHS, and I spoke about my daughter meeting Belle - from the picture in my signature.

After thinking my journey was over, I checked my spam and there it was....I'm moving to round 3! I'm still shaking and already have butterflies in my stomach.

I'm still in shock. I can't believe I made it to R3! I keep rereading the email to make sure.

I am so sorry for those that aren't moving on. I know how you feel. After 4 years, this is the first time I made it out of R1.

I've been lurking here for awhile (and last year too, when I was sadly out after R2), but wanted to join in after I made it to R3 for DVC... I didn't even tell my husband I had applied for the panel until just now, after I was saddened last year at being knocked out at this stage. I've loved reading all the support and kindness you've all shown for each other, and I'm so surprised that more people here didn't make it - I read all the answers that were posted and watched all the videos and WOW - you guys are all awesome!! If anyone is interested in reading my essay answers, I would be happy to PM them, but don't think I am comfortable enough with posting them for public viewing. Congratulations to those of you that made R3 and I'm happy to finally have joined the dis!!

Ok, at risk of totally freaking you out, when I had that weird MP dream where only 1 person made it to R3 from the DIS, and everyone else was on a different board and had fancy videos...you were the one who made it. I'm really shocked because I thought your essays were so creative and well written!

I'm at a loss as to what it is they want. I'd love to see videos and essays from those who did make it. After three years of this, it is much easier this time around, mostly because I was obsessive about not getting my hopes up, after the last two R2 rejections made me cry.

I'll continue applying until I either die or they tell me to stop. Maybe eventually they'll let me through just so they don't have to keep seeing my videos year after year

It takes more than that to freak me out! Thanks so very much for your kind words. Last year I was absolutely devastated-- especially since I was one who never got an email either way about making it to R3 or not. But while I'm crushingly disappointed, I know it makes no difference to my passion for Disney. And I know it's inevitable that I'll be doing this next year-- same bat time, same bat channel. But this time I think I really will lose weight so I don't look like Jabba the Hut in my video next year!

Off-topic, but Halloween trick-or-treating has been postponed here until Saturday. Another day of no school and most our town is without power but we are one of the lucky ones! Also can someone repost the link to the videos and essays? I would love to see them all again now that we know who is moving on but everyone of them was better than the next!

Just a thought. Remember when we were reading the tweets from/between John and Laura...

It really sounded like they were picking the actual panelists rather than just another group of finalists. Maybe that is why there are so few of us moving on... You are a very select group and maybe -- you are really it!!

I hope that is the way it will be so that no one has to hear any more bad news. I am really cheering you all on. Let us know when you get your phone calls set up!!

the essay question is slightly different each year so using the same essay doesn't work out.

There isn't anything in my spam folder, the server or trash either. I realize that this likely means that it's the end of my journey this year, however I'm concerned that they didn't receive my application.

I am thinking they narrowed down the field a lot more this year, too. It can't be easy having to call someone to give them bad news, and I am sure they want to do that as little as possible. It can't be an easy phone call for them to make.

Good morning! While we didn't lose power, we did lose internet for 2 days. We just got it back this morning.

I'm still in complete shock, but I made it to Round 3!!!!!

I am so sorry (and shocked) for those of you who did not make it. It is so heartbreaking. This group is truly filled with wonderful, Disney loving people. With all the passion you have, I don't know how they narrowed down the field. You all are truly amazing!
