to Round 3...And Beyond! Moms Panel Hopefuls and Friends

I made it to R3!!!!!! I was at my DD's dance class when I found out, so this is the first chance I had to get on the computer and post here! Still shaking from excitement!

Still thinking of all those out there that did not move on. I have been in your shoes for the last 4 years and can totally relate to the feelings of deflation, disappointment and sadness.....so to you all I say, just remember that you are still Disney Moms and Dads to the most important judges....your children. Hugs to you all!

Can you post your round 3 letter for us? If there's personal info, just leave that out? I really am curious to see how the wording differed from the "sorry loser" letter, because the wording was terrible and many of us had to re-read it before we understood that it was a no. Even my hubby read it twice, it was so confusing!

You know, I was reading the other day, a couple of MP trip reports and blogs from people who've applied in years past, and a TON of them got the "NO" email, and it was a mistake, and a day or two later they got a "YES" email!

I have not seen a single yes anywhere - none of the boards, no where. Not even Twitter!

I know it's a long shot, but do you think that happened this time? They seemed to have some issues with round 2 this year. I wonder if that's why there was such a delay between yesterday and Friday???

I've seen quite a few yes's on Twitter and FB. So, I doubt it's some sort of email error.

So sorry for those of you not moving on to Round 3. I know how hard it is to get the news that you're not advancing, but I hope to see some of you back in the waiting room next year.

For those of you who are moving on , congratulations! Can't wait to see who makes it on to the panel this year!

I know everyone is hurting right now, but you guys have to keep your chins up and remember NOBODY can take away your love for Disney! Laura, John, and the other judges did the best they could to find what they were looking for. I'm sure there are many factors they have to take into consideration, things we aren't even aware of. I hate to see anyone sad or mad, especially in this group. I'm here if anyone wants to talk or complain or have a shoulder to cry on. I'm actually sort of RELIEVED it's over!

It reads like all the other rejection letters I have gotten through the years.

I'll be honest - I never thought I would hit R2, let alone go all the way through. But, after being really, really, really ticked at the way runDisney handled the rollout of the Tink race, and seeing that the majority of the pics on the runDisney FB site are women, I was secretly hoping that the Moms Panel would try to correct some of that by chosing a guy for the runDisney specialty this year. Don't see it happening, however.

I'm trying to console myself with the fact that I have a trip coming up at the end of next month, and the marathon weekend in January, but I'm just not feeling it right now. And I'm worried that I will look at the final price tag for the Goofy trip, and think about how many states I could have crossed off my list with that cash instead.

Bleh. I'm dragging myself down here. So, to end on a high note - good luck to all the R3 people! Represent the Disboards, and make us all proud (and not a little envious!)

I HATE the way they worded this email!!!
The first paragraph is so exciting, I thought I got it!
It's not until the end of the second paragraph that you realize it says "sorry loser!"
And then the next paragraph is contradicting too!
Did anyone else get confused by this??? Or am I just stupid

Well, this year's email is better than last year when the subject line sounded like you made it to R3 but the actual "no" was buried in the text like this year.

I just saw one of my friends on FB post that she was in, and then she said, no I am out! I think she mis-read the letter like I did.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but that whole Y chromosome is always kind of a hurdle that I have to clear with the Moms Panel.

I wish I knew what the criteria was - if I wasn't photogenic enough, that would give me a whole year for plastic surgery or something.

I just wish I knew what I did wrong, or what I was lacking that made them say no! I had moms on the panel PM'ing me that said I did fantastic and they knew I would go to round 3. Unless they were just blowing smoke up my a$$. But I asked both of them for their most honest opinion!

Holy Cow! I made it to Round 3!!!! I had to reread the email, because last year the no email was so confusing! The subject title was "Wow! That's What We Said!"

I am so sorry for those who got the no email. Trust me, I know what it feels like.

Sorry it took me so long to post. I was out for a run when the emails came out.
