To Pirate & Princess Party, or not...

We went in feb and are going again on sept 3...It was the highlight of our trip...the kids loved it ...the dance party at little mermaid was great...3yo DD got to meet prince Eric-this was all she talked about for months before we went, The only thing we are doing differently is going on our first day but not using one of our park tickets earlier that day...before we went last time a poster on a thread about it said they start admiting people for the pppat 4pm so we will just get there earlier than the official 730 start time...also i remember reading in the past about the long lines to meet captian jack and that people said the lines during regular park hours weren't near the 45 min at the ppp...maybe that is something to search for or post about if that is a concern for you...I can't wait!

It's normally about 10,000 tickets sold. Seing that on an average day there is 30,000-50,000 guests in the park the crowds are quite manageable.

AN excellent parade and a spectacular fireworks show along with the "Pirate Booty" kids games, the Rusty Cutlas singers, special pirate tutorial etc. made this a must do twice in April.

can you buy tickets the day you arrive, we have the opportunity to go on the first day we get to Orlando, and we arrive around 4pm, so i figure we could still go later in evening if it goes til midnight, however, i don't want to pre buy tickets in case our flight gets delayed or something, anyone have any ideas if we can pick up tickets at the hotel on day of arrival??

Yes, you can buy tickets on the day of the event. The tickets are a little more $ when you buy them that day.

thanks, can i buy them or find out at the hotel, if they are still available. I would hate to go all the way to MK only to find out that it is sold out?

You just need to go to any guest relations. I wouldn't see why you couldn't get them at the hotel. I bought mine at the Animal Kingdom the day before we went as that was the 1st park we hit on vacation.

I think we will do this while we are doing our "land" portion of our vacation. We already will have some outfits that we will be wearing on the Wonder during the Pirates in the Caribbean show on the ship so we can get double use out of them.
Am I to understand that most rides would be open too? Like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain? That is just great in itself not to mention the bonus parade and fireworks. Sounds like a plan to me!

Nothing to exciting I am afraid!! I did book us for the party for August 24. Very excited. Well the costume isn't all that thrilling!! I am wearing a pair of black I guess you could call them gauchos---black wide leg pants---strappy sandals and a red and white shirt, bandanna and maybe some exaggerated eyeliner . My niece (11) is wearing pretty much the same thing but it's a red/white striped tank top and a she has a play kit that I picked up at Target a while back (only $2.29 marked down from $20.) It has Captain Jack's bandanna with some fake hair built in (braids), some jewelry, a sword (don't think that will be making it on the plane) eye patch. I am sure I will pick things up as the time draws near. Now is a good time b/c of the movie recently being out. I seem to have good luck at Target. Any other tips/ideas to share would be great. It is going to be hot hot hot in August so I didn't want to get too carried away with layers of clothing!
