To mule or not to mule

Speaking of mules.. I will need to create some for "Tron Month." I think I have 10-15 mules at the moment.

I dont use them again after I drain the credits. But for the other mules, well, I have nearly 4000 pins and before the new inventory list, it is how I kept them seperated.

My character and my girl's two characters keep me BUSY enough..I can't handle any more! I did create one other to anonymously gift to my pal though.
 

Mules are an interesting topic - They have many uses and different people have their different reasons. I made my first two on the day we all got day 1 Badges, I was hopeing they would qualify...sadly not. Then we went to WDW and made three one for each person in the family and wala - Black Mickey ears.

Then at the time Spider Webs sold at about 75% of cost many of use worked that with mules and free codes. All told I have about 50. I occationally use most but has been about 8 months since I logged them all on and ran them through. Sometimes it is fun to start a new character and just work through getting all the levels of Pirates play music and Jungle cruise and Work through Fire works for magic, Play a little mansion. After running through these things a mule can have 10,000 credits in a day or two. somewhere floating around on my mules are some interesting items I pcik up and forget about and about 200K spread out. No idea what or where, I tried to keep up and gave up.

When I play a mule I do miss my friends but ofter while at work it can just be easier to play this way because it is impossible to play and work and have fun with friends at times, When work it is like that I will sometimes just blend into VMK with a mule that is obscure to most - very few have been identified to most.

Of course now a lot of people are also using them for quests and storage. Some people have strong feelings against them, I feel they have a use and can not see where they violate the values. I am sure VMK is aware and could stop mules or at least significantly reduce them if they wished. If you feel you have a use for them and have no problem with it then go ahead. The only use that violates the values is using an alternate person to go around a ban - we have seen them recently take action on that and we won't rehash how that brilliant plan went down.

Just a quick FYI, I deleted my mule yesterday and checked again this morning, and YAY!! they have no record of the email address. So now I feel better! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, I think your Disney account only shows the last...what is it, the first 5 accounts you have made? And my DD has all child characters -- it's too bad that the only one she really uses is her latest one, and that one doesn't show up in the account. When she recently changed to FunkiMonkeyMe and transferred all her stuff over then signed out, she went to sign in again but had forgotten her login name (she mistakenly typed it in so didn't know it was wrong). I tried to change her info via the Disney account page, but since it wasn't there I couldn't do anything. One quick call to Disney Internet and we found out that her login name was not the same as she had thought she typed in. So if you're having a problem with the account site, don't hesitate to call Disney -- they are very helpful! :thumbsup2
 
Well, I thank everyone for their thoughts. I must admit I do have a 2nd character...

I made him not long after I started. I heard you could combine magic, but I had no way of getting any except by playing Pirates, which I could do well enough to already get 1 Invisibility (at the time I couldn't come near 240k in Fireworks). I made a 2nd character and got another magic, traded with myself and was able to test out the combine.

I can't imagine regularlly playing 2 or 10 characters to get additional credits. And is really worth the time to create a new character just to drain off the New Player Bonus Credits to someone who can now get 675-1300 credits in a 10 minute game playing fireworks?

Can someone answer these for me:
Say you create a new character. Visit the first time dallies, make/play a song, play/win each mini-game once, enter all universal codes...

1) Am I missing anything?
2) How many credits can you get for that?
3) How many minutes/hours does that process take?

in approximately 3 minutes, barring a disconnect, I can create a mule, do all the NPCs, play a song, take a hidden mickey pic (just 1), play JC, and sell all the clothes and the organ and the room and get exactly 2900 credits. I then leave the mule until Friday when I go on it, get the 5 main npcs in about 30 seconds which gives me a total of 3k credits, I then buy 6 new pins with it and trade them over to my trading mule.

totaol muling time including trading: 5 minute and I dont have to spend 1 credit from my main charachters to get the pin for the week and 5 traders.

I usually blow 5 mules on pins each week for a total of 30, I then use other mules at various times for project furniture and to build my "room for each item" mule - all in all, I use mules to spend about 150k credits a week and never have to dip into my high credit charachters at all

I was trying to do the math here, but I don't know how much everything is worth. Let's see... all 8 NPCs = 160 credits. Mix and play a song = 50 credits. Play JC = 20 credits. So that's 230 credits. So basically, taking a hidden mickey pic, selling your clothes, organ, and room (plus the credits you start off with, which I don't remember how many that is) gives you 2670 credits? How much is each of those worth? That seems like an awful lot of credits.
 
OK, Broken Down:

JC: 150 credits for first time
Taking a mickey pick: costs 200 credits to buy camera and film, take the mickey gets you 375 credits and then 2 generic pics, sell them for 5 credits each, net gain is 185 credits.
NPCs: 40 credits each for first time, or 320 credits total
Songs: first save 100 credits and an organ, play song for teh first time 100 credits
Codes: 1650 credits for all 10 codes
Sell room: 100 credits
Sell organ: 80 credits
Sell clothes 165 credits (boy charachter with hat and put code in for tshirt)
plus you start with 200 credits

2900 total credits in less than 5 mins

sometimes I will have my wife go on and play fireworks with a mule, get all the "first time" credits there and gain another 1400 credits and a fireworks pin cause she can get 240k easily while I cannot. - so total, really, if you play FW on the mule, is 4300 credits in about 8 minutes.

Actually, on a brand new character you get:

NPC's are 40 cr ea so 40 x 8 = 320
Creating a mix is 100 cr
Playing mix is 100 cr
Plus the organ which sells for 80 cr
Playing JC for the first time gets you 150 cr plus a poster (which I trade to my main and sell for 8 credits)
Boys get 18 shirts, a pair of jeans and a pair of shoes that can be sold at 5 cr ea.
I also get a hat that can be taken off and sold for 5 cr.

Don't forget the one time use codes in the sticky at the top of the forum.

Oh yeah... I forgot about all the extra "first time" credits you get. Can you sell the NPC pins? I've never tried. If so, there's 25 more credits (assuming they sell for 5 each, which is a pretty safe assumption).

Thats funny, I do that too, I never sell the poster in the mule because there would be "credit waste" lol


ct: do the camera thing too with your mules, pay 200 to buy the camera, and then take the mickey pic in VMK Central and you get 375 credits, plus you have two films left over which I just take generic pics and resell for 5 credits each, or a net gain of 185 credits


Sometimes, I dont sell the organ and trade it over and then do a mass selling of organs, when i am on that kick, I can make 3,000 credits in a week just from organ sales

Wow you have it down to a system!

For those that don't understand playing the mules regularly, here's what I do:

Each character does a credit run daily. I have 2 PC's going so this takes 15-20 minutes. Mules are the best when questing. During Quest month, most of my characters managed to get over 7000 credits just playing all the quests and doing daily credit runs. Those credits will come in handy if/when the new costumes come out. Plus I have extra pins and tiki items for trading later.

Exactly! I also never got the whole thing last Halloween of people creating mules to buy webs to give to their mains to sell for 75% of their credits spent. Over 4 mules, they completly wasted one. I just used them to buy whatever I really wanted (ie: costumes & furniture) and then traded to my main. Seemed more logical to me with no credit loss. :confused3

Hmmm. Never thought about the camera thing.
I would also do JC and get top 10 to get 750 credits and the tent room pdf and do fireworks. With over 200k (but under 240k for me) on fireworks, you get 650 credits and the fortress room and sell it for 100 credits. So you would get another 1500 credits and a pdf to redeem for a tent room code to use for trade. :)

What I want to know is how to get to 240K in Fireworks in 3 minutes? pirate:
 
Pirate: Fireworks only takes me about 1 minute to play since I get kicked out after the 2nd round almost every time! lol

ct: Im not that good at JC, although if it hit it early enough in the morning lol
 
Another thing you can do on mules is do the quest to get that tilted mickey pin, it's just questions so it goes by quickly and the pin sells for... I think it's 150.
