To mule or not to mule

I've heard many people talk about mules and clones in VMK. I have looked around in VMK's help/rules and couldn't find anything that said they weren't allowed.

I was wondered if there are any specific rules or values against using mules in VMK. Can a person get banned or in any other trouble for using one?

I mean I don't have time to play 2 characters regularly, but for some quests it would be nice to be able to get a 2nd/tradable item.

I don't think it's against VMK values but they don't encourage it. That said, I have at least one stable full of mules that I use at various times. I play a few of them fairly regularly. I play the others for quests or if I want to play fairly anonymously.

I don't have a mule simply because my computer won't handle having two separate windows in vmk at the same time without locking up or crashing.

Well, if they would sell ALL of the clothes available to players when they
create a new character, I wouldn't have resorted to making mules to
get the fun shirts. I would have been perfectly happy buying them.

i have two mules but i only use them two have fun on and enjoy VMK MY first character is the person who trrades items and stuff.

I have several mules... most of which were created around Halloween when I could purchase spiderwebs to sell for a decent profit to give my main character credits and also because of the mass of costumes that came out and the need to buy sets for myself, dd and ds...

I have other mules that were created for in game exchanges or parties or for giving things at holidays- that will probably get recycled and used again this year...

Then I have born in park mules- most of which I planned to play regularly and never really did... I feel sorry for those poor mules- and I think they still have some credits on them too lol

But I also have another 3 mules that I play fairly regularly. One carries all my extras of pins and costumes, another also carries pins but usually just the freebies or cheap pins that I hadn't given away- another just sort of gets played every now and then- all have some credits so that if needed dh or kids can get things if I'm not around and they need extra credits.

I will at times bring a mule through for a quest or something- but not that often- when I have to get myself and kids through the quests (still need to do cats and mountain quests on kids before Thursday) it takes too long already...

But as far as new mules- I don't really have a need credit-wise to keep making them- and the last one I made was only to see what the new system looked like and to see what girls got now since dh reported all the neat things new boy characters got- still lots and lots more than girls. I will probably make some born in park characters when I go to WDW just so I can get more black ears to trade/gift. And I'm sure we will have more DIS/Zeta activities that will have me creating yet new special mules from time to time but that is it...

I have one charachter which I never play, that is my main charachter, IE: my storage/1 of everything mule. Then I have my playing mule,,which has 4 of everything buyable and a bunch of items fortrade. Then I have a mule purely for "off-charachter" storage, I play that with some frequency. Then, I have 679 mules which were used purely for buying items and then set free.

To Mule or not to Mule

People on this forum were quite supportative of mules I remember a Mule Ball last year even.

To each his own I say. Some like to do it, others don't. We each play VMK differently.

I have a bunch that I made in my early days when it was much harder to get credits.

Now, I just have about 24 stragglers that I need to clean out so I don't need to mess with them anymore.

After that, I will have a total of 11 characters to be played. Most of which are storage characters and/or for doing extra quests. :)

So it's not against the "rules" or a bannable offense, then... just not encouraged?

I make no moral judgement when I say this next thing (as I totally get the idea of having mules), but WOW I am impressed with the number of mules people have. 600+ one person said? Wow! LOL One or two, I had thought, but double-digits or more? Whew. Again, not judging, just surprised and the quantity. :teeth:

Next time I go to DLR I'll have to Born me some Mules. heh. :smooth:

I actually wish there was a way to delete the mules. I signed a couple up that I never ever play, and for some reason, it bugs me that I cannot delete them.

Most of mine were created before or around Christmas time and Halloween. Again, for me, it was mainly for credits since there were much harder to get then. :)

Yes. I would love to do this.

You actually can delete mules if they were "adult" mules. the same way you change your password.
go to:
http://disney.go.com/guestservices/your_account/index.html

login

select "Modify" tab

scroll to bottom and "Delete Account"

It may take some time for the deletion to occur. Not sure, never tried to reuse a mule email address

Good question. Not sure if mules are specifically wrong on VMK but they most likely are not approved of either.

That said I currently have 6 characters. My main character has saved credits, rooms and decor..slides, rides and quest (coming soon). Her 2 clones and 2 other mules (1 male) do credit runs, shop and quests. Last I have new character that was recently Born In The Park, which will be a back up for my main character...just in case. So many of my "friends" on VMK have been banned for one thing or another I thought it might not be a bad idea.

They're not against the rules, but I've heard Hosts threaten people who come into host games with multiple accounts to try and win/win more. They said they'd catch them. I don't remember if they said it could lead to a ban. Maybe they'd just boot the people.

I do not really beleive Doc has 600+ mules I think he was joshing ;)

I have over 100 though most of which I used to play regularly but sadly they have been put out to pasture and now only come out for special occasions....which by the way has not happened for months!

So in light of that I am going to play my mules the rest of the week!

Woot the Mules!

No, I really have over 600 mules 99% of which are empty "dead" mules. I dont know how many I have made total but ever since I started keeping track, I have 679 "dead" ones and about 45 "unused" ones right now. Before I started spreadsheeting them at Christmas time, I had made about 150.

I have 15 mules which I "play" semi-regularly. plus my main 3 accounts.

Why would you need so many mules just to buy items? Isn't one or two sufficient?

I just have one mule, but it's not really always used as a mule. The main character, Mnementh, is used by both my fiance and I, and we have the mule, Mulee. However, when we both get the urge to play at the same time, she takes over Mnementh and I take over Mulee, so in a sense, Mulee is my true main character, but we both still consider him a mule.

(Occassionally, though, we cooperate on mini-games. On fireworks, I choose the type of firework and she clicks, on HM she moves and I suck in the ghosts, on JC I move and she shoots the pictures, and on pirates she moves and I shoot. We mainly just do this on quests, though, because it's easier.)
