Ok. We just officially decided to go back to Disney for Halloween due to the great package deals. So my debate is to do MNSSHP on Oct. 30 or 31. Is it really bad to be there on Halloween itself? Is it just miserably crowded? If we don't do MNSSHP on Halloween, what are some of our other options for that night that our children would enjoy (ages 3 & 7)? Thanks for any help.

After reading so much about the confusion of who is entitled to what with tickets or no tickets we decided to save the money and give out candy from our campsite on halloween night. Considering the cost we didn't think it worth the money for something we aren't completely into. If we had kids we might reconsider for their trick or treating.

From what I've read, both those nights (and probably Fri 27th too) will sell out so I don't think there'll be any difference in the crowds! We're going on 31st ourselves - preparing for crowds but hoping to have a great time anyway. :woohoo:

We did MNSSHP on Halloween in 2004. It wasn't terribly crowded. It was fine. We did get to go on a lot of rides without waiting. Too bad , that my DD3, at the time, fell asleep for the parade.
I would go on Halloween (if it's available) Good luck :thumbsup2

We went back in 2000 on the 30th and had so much fun we wished we did it on Halloween. A sell out is a sell out so both nights will be the same. This year we are going on Halloween.

What better place to be on Halloween then the MK.

BTW, when we were there in 2000, the only other thing going on on Halloween was Pleasure Island.

If you are going to be at WDW anyway, I see no reason not to go to MNSSHP. It is a fabulous deal price wise and the kids will love it. Like everyone else said, it probably will sell out, but even sold out for these type of events the crowds aren't terrible because they only sell a certain number of tickets anyway.

I don't think there would be any difference between the two nights because they will both sell out. I'd go Halloween night if I were you.

Had a wonderful time. It was always crowded around Mainstreet. Once you got out and away from there it was fine.

It was a sold out party, but we still had a great time.

One tip...If you can wait for the second parade do it!! It was so much more empty after 10 pm and we had lots of room to view the later parade.

I love the music, decorations and the headless horseman running his horse down mainstreet!! :thumbsup2 Give me goosebumps thinking about it!!!

Go and have a ball!! :wizard: DD got lots of candy too.

We went on Halloween night back in 2000, we didn't think it was too bad :cool1: , cause we're going again this year Halloween night :grouphug: . But, I guess Disney's doing things a little different this year, and there are people that aren't happy, but I'm going to go out on a limb here, and put a little faith in Disney that the party will go off without any problems :hourglass .

We went on Halloween night 2002 and are going again this year on 10/31. As others have said, both nights will sell out so the crowd size should be the same. There are so many confliciting reports on if and how the crowd will be cleared of those not paying to attend the party, so crowds may be bigger than in the past. I am hoping that by the time we go, Disney will have a better plan on how to deal with this. When we went in 2002 the crowds were not bad at all. We got right on may rides and didn't have to deal with long lines. The parade was the most crowded attraction and we still managed to get a good view. I would give it a try, especially for the kids.

We went Halloween Night last year and it was sold out...but It didn't feel really crowded to us. We got on all the rides with little to no wait, got a great spot for both the parade and Happy Hallowishes and got to do everything we wanted...Got TONS of candy and just had a great time. So even though it was sold out, it certainly didn't feel that way. I would definitely do MNSSHP!!!!

please do a search, but I swear someone posted that those nights were already sold out? did anybody else see that :confused3

The poster was upset because they will be there on those dates and the kids will miss trick or treat at home and at wdw. :guilty:

I will look and see if I can find it

Just now (5pm) bought our tickets for Oct 30. The Cm said there were "a few left" for both the 30th & 31st. I was worried when I first read this thread because we have never been to MNSSHP and the 30th is the only night we can go.

Sorry I didnt want to spread mass worry! :confused3

I just found that thread, (I was starting to think I was nuts) :rolleyes1
But I found it! It was under Disney Tips and it did say she(the OP) called tixs were gone, BUT someone else told her to try online or something, anyhow she did get hers and was told there were some left! :goodvibes

I am sooooo sorry if I gave anybody a heart failure!

We will be there Halloween night with an almost-2-year-old. We plan to have a great time, even if it's a bit :crowded: :crowded:

I'm confused. It says the last three nights aren't available for advance purchase. So I've been stressing about which night of the 30th and the 31st to try for. Then today I am able to add to my shopping cart online a ticket for the 31st but it won't go through to purchase. So I called the AP hotline and I can order and did order a ticket!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY do they say they aren't available when they are?????????

Well I'm happy I have that dilemma out of the way despite my frustration and confusion!!

They aren't available for an advanced purchase DISCOUNT. That is the difference. Many, many people have misread that, so don't feel bad.

We have attended Halloween night the last two years. MNSSHP is always good, I think Halloween night is the best! :thumbsup2

Last year we paid EXTRA for Halloween night. (No discount)

That is what it says. I work in a "fine print" business so I don't know how I missed that. I think the confusion came from the fact that I couldn't add the ticket to my online shopping cart weeks ago. I did try several times but I have been finding the sites (esp. the passholder one) to be tempermental. now but weeks ago you couldn't even add them to the shopping cart. I'm glad I tried to buy them today (even though it didn't work online for some reason) and that I read this thread!! I went 9 years ago on the 31st and they were available in advance then. I got a discount then too but I worked for Disney back then so maybe that's why. One way or the other, I'm glad it worked out for me today. I usually have bad luck!!
