We received a Melting Pot gift certificate as an anniversary gift and thought we might use it while at OKW this June. Anyone ever eaten there? Is it much of a drive from OKW? DH only knows the drive to all the WDW golf courses so hoping it is close by!

I am not sure where the Melting Pot is in Orlando but we have one here in Memphis. It is a very fun place to eat. It is an upscale fondue much like the ones in the late sixties. We love the cheese and chocolate fondue best, but who wouldn't. I will have to find out where it is also. Would love to go there in May.

Don't know the Melting Pot near DVC properties, but the one near Chicago is nice. Instead of ordering oil to cook in, order the broth with wine. They charge a little more for it, but the result is delicious.

Last night I posted the directions and they disappeared when I hit submit!

I had never heard of the Melting Pot so I, too, found the web site. Sounds interesting. Have you been to these restaurants? I'd like to hear what it's like.

The one in Orlando is about 8 miles from OKW and shouldn't be difficult to find. It's on W. Sand Lake which is a major road. I can't offer specific landmarks for the road but I can get you there! Turn right out of OKW onto Community. Follow it past SSR until the road ends. Turn right onto Buena Vista. At the intersection of Hotel Plaza Blvd. (traffic light) turn left onto Hotel Plaza. Follow this to the end. (If you went straight across the intersection, you'd be at The Crossroads Shopping where Gooding's is located.) Rather than going into the shopping, turn left onto 535 North. Stay straight on this road as it becomes S Apopka/Vineland /County Road 435-N. Continue about 4.5 miles until you reach W. Sand Lake (can't offer a landmark -- I believe one of the hospitals is on this road). This should be a major intersection. Turn right onto W. Sand Lake. The restaurant is in the Fountains at Bay Hill -- 7549 W. Sand Lake.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like it is close enough to not be confusing for us navigationally challenged!

We just had one open here in Tacoma, WA but haven't tried it yet. Glad to hear the good reviews and think it will be fun to wait and try it in our favorite "Home away from Home".

My in-laws tried it last month (hence our gift certificates) and raved about it. I was told we must try the dark chocolate fondue that comes with fresh strawberries and bananas to dip for dessert. Yum!
