To Golf Cart or not to Golf Cart? This is the Question.

I just did my reservation for Oct and for my family it is a big part of the trip. My DS is autisitc and he gets as much fun from the cart as from the rides in the parks. I don't like to overdo the crowds for him so on a 4 day trip I get tickets for 2 days and spend the rest of the time camping, we drive around in the cart, go to the pool, ride the boat to the monorail etc etc.

Of course I try to buy as little food at the parks as possible and save money in other areas like bringing souviners and hiding them in the trailer. So the cost of cart is reasonable in relation to that. I also find it does make the large campground more accessable. If my trip was more about getting to the parks and not spending much time in FW I doubt we would rent it. Of course we have come camping and never gone to the parks at all - just gone to spring training games and had a blast.

I have actually been trying to justify buying one. 2 things have stopped me. No use for it other than at FW and we tow with an Excursion so how would I transport it :confused3

Being that you have a special needs child, I would actually consider buying one if he likes it that much. My 19 mo is begging for rides every day now that we are home. We put our cart on the back of the truck up in the bed this past time going to FW, but we are going to buy a small trailer to cart it in the future for safety. We want to take longer trips with the cart and bring it to college football games. If you have lights on the front and back, you (according to my information) can drive it in neighborhoods. That way, you can entertain your son and keep it running while you are not in FW. If you need the guy I bought my used one from, I will foward it to you. He is in central FL. Best of luck with your little guy! (PS- This would make you have to take two cars, though.)

They used to let us run golf carts in the streets of our neighborhood here where I live due to the proximity of the country club's golf course but that changed after some loony let his 10 year old drive it down the street and he got clobbered by a pickup truck. He's lucky he's still with us.

What would you use it at a football game for? To carry off the Auburn players? Just kidding....

Roll Tide Baby!!!

Hmm, trying to help BAMA fans.......

That is unfortunate about your local area and the cart. FYI- We go down to the showers in the cart at the football games to save time before kickoff. They have us park so far out these days that you need a car of some sort just to get there. Progress! Blah!
