Amazing how much of the image you loose by de-fishing.

I like the fish better. Defishing just takes all the fun out of the lens. Great shot BTW.

Hmmm I have had nights like that top one before  LOL

I vote for #1

I like fish, to an extent. But, I recently viewed a gallery of work that posted nothing but fish. It quickly became boring. As in many cases, moderation is the key.

As for your post, in this case, fishing is preferred.

But do you catch and release? And is there a daily limit?

lol @ golf4food!!!!

i say the fishy version. more dramatic and does have more environment. but yes, only if it's just one and not a full gallery of fish-eye images.

it would be interesting to see the same one with an ultra wide field of view but not fisheye...i think the fish gives a little more drama esp. to some interiors, etc but sometimes they make me dizzy so to me they are the "specialty", not the everyday

Very good stuff... I'll take the fish please!

I assume that was done using the fish-eye flattening tool in Capture?

I thought I was the only one! I find that if I look at fisheye images for too long, it makes me feel a bit unsettled. Not sure why...:confused3 It's strange because I don't get motion sickness, car sickness, or anything like that. Well OK nevermind that, Mission Space Orange side was a bit too much for me.

Keep the fish, it looks like it belongs that way (I suppose because it was captured that way?).

Funny, the ad at the top of the page picked up on your subject title, that's targeted advertising! ;)

The fish is a keeper. I would like to go fishing, but not right now for $1500.00on the Olympus. The crowd looks neat. Thanks for sharing.

Oh neat! I love that first one! One of these days I'm going to be taking shots that look like that - very cool effect!

Thanks all-

Yes Geoff- defished in Capture NX

Anyone who's seen much of my shots should know already which one I'd like best. :lmao:

I did similar shots a couple WDW trips ago, but my fisheye at the time was only 16mm (designed for 35mm) so some of the effect was lost, but I still liked it a lot.
