To eat, or not to eat, that is the question.

I always hear when dieting you need to eat lots of small meals. That by eating frequently your metabolism keeps going.

But I ate a hamburger at 2PM today and I'm not even close to feeling hungry. In fact, I actually still feel full.

Eat, or not, from a dieting perspective. It is now 8:40 PM.

No, it's too late at night. Anything you eat now won't be metabolized as well because you will be sleeping. I usually don't eat after 8:00. I really should stop at 7:00 but dh doesn't get home (and thus we don't eat) until around 6:45.

They do say to eat several small meals, but I think the cardinal rule in dieting is "don't eat when you're not hungry!" It makes sense to not let yourself get TOO hungry--then you'll just binge--but if you still feel full it doesn't make sense to eat.

Well, actually, I go to bed at 2 AM.... so I think I can safely eat. I hope.

Wow. I would eat again, but I have a fast metabolism. If I ate at 2:00, I would be hungry again by 2:30. However, the way I see it, don't eat if you're not hungry.

Small meals that are low fat and nutrient rich. Fresh veggies, fruits, yogurt, peanut butter, etc..

Only lean meats...broiled/grilled chicken breast, for example. Red meat should be taken off the list of things to eat. It has too much FAT and we tend to overeat when it comes to portion size.

A hamburger is going to make you feel saited longer than a lean piece of meat. Lots of fat to digest!!! That is why you do not feel a need to eat.
