To Drive or to Fly, that is the question

I'm actually debating on whether to drive or fly also! We just went to Disney in May and flew. We have always wanted to experience a road trip and 3 out of our 4 kids do as well. There are ups and downs to each, I'm just going to wait it out and see what I end up deciding on when it comes down to it. We are going in September, so I figure I have a month or two to decide?

I find the ideal time to book airfare is 2-3 months in advance. I like using the "flexible date search" on Travelocity to see how far in advance the airline is offering its lowest fares (look at the 'valid through' dates for the lowest fares).

I love to drive. But not from MA to Florida! Way too long and I'd be draggin' butt by the time I got there! Nope. We leave the drivin' to JetBlue!

How about renting a car for a 1 way road trip. by September Alamo or National or hertz may be doing their drive in to Florida and could get a car cheap and just leave it in FL and fly home? We did this last year on the way home from FL in April/May. We rented an HHR for 164.00 for 12 days. That included tax and we went to Busch Gardens Virginia on the way home to break it up.

(Not sure where your driving from but it may be a location they do 1 ways from/to. We drove to NH)
