I have driven the past 2 trips and it can be fun if you have the right attitude and like to drive.
I go with someone else, but I drive the whole way from Northern NJ. I will leave after work and drive until around 1am and get a hotel, get up and out by 7-8am.
I have a good time driving down, but some areas can seem never ending in the carolinas.
The drive home is okay, but I just try to relax and take my time.
I used to take the train and get a sleeper, but the prices are just too high now. That was very relaxing tho!!!
