To do or NOT to do

My big question is should we go to park on the day of Extra Magic Hour or not? Truthfully I'm asking about the evening hours. It's been 4 years since we went to WDW and the dates are about the same but the hours are very different. In the past we went the week of New Year's so the parks were open very late. This year we will be arriving December 17 and there are a few nights I'm looking at and before I decide and make/plan ADRs I'd like the DIS EXPERTS to please help me!!!!!!!! I know things might not go as planned but I'm just hoping for a magical trip. Thank you.

We did the evening EMH every time there was one last year in mid october and LOVED it! we rode everything and the parks were not busy at all!!! we had a lbast!! Not sure about December, but that was our experience.

we are going to try it. The last time we did them was back when it was the paid E-ticket night. We did MVMCP in December and loved that too. so i figure we will try it, if the crowds are bad, we will stick with the less popular rides or shows or just try another park. we are flexible. but i want to take advantage of the extra hours since it is just DH and i, no kids to worry about being up late and i feel like we aren't there long enough (5night/6day), so every extra hour counts!
