here's the deal. going in December with 6 Disney adults (4 teenagers). right now have 2 signatures planned (Narcoossees and Candelight). we also plan F! dinner (i want HBD but one of mine doesn't like) we enjoy eating at sit down and even enjoy sit down breakfasts(which I know ren't the greatest use of credits, but we get up and going early). we are only going for 4 nights. the way we travel, we do more dining than the DDP "affords" but don't eat as much as the DxDP "affords". but with 4 teenagers that will likely "break away" from the 2 adults, DxDP will give them lots of options (read = snacks). 4 nights with a total of 72 credits (DxDP) is a heck of alot of food. wwyd?

In my opinion if you are used to having a sit down breakfast and enjoy the TS meals for the rest of the day especially I would do the DDP. Especially if its for the 4 days this trip might be the "trial run" for future trips to see if it (larger amount of food) will work for your family.

Above all have fun!!!!

Just got back after using the DXDP for a DVC segmented stay. We were so happy with it, that I can't imagine not using it in the future with similar pricing.

We are 4 Disney adults - 2 adults, a 14 yo, and a 16 yo.
We had the plan for two of our five nights, at a cost of $639.
We had dinner at Flying Fish - $280.
Dinner at Artist Point- $306.
Four mugs - appx $60.
That would have covered our cost for the 2 nights on the DXDP.

BUT, we still had 8 adult credits and 8 snacks left over! So these meals were our savings or freebies. We used them for a Boma buffet breakfast, a Boma buffet Dinner, brownies from the bakery on Main Street, desserts from The Land, Pretzels from Epcot, and iced coffees - all are $4 each plus tax. All totalled, these added around $300. The savings could have been greater, had we chosen to eat a lunch rather than a breakfast with our credits. :)

I do it with my 4 yo triplets. try to switch a few of your single table service to signature is you want to use more credit. If not, CS meals might be needed and you could use those extra credit to share a few CS meals. We loved it for 5 days and are doing it for 7 next month .It's nice to have everything prepaid and not worry about price nor how many snacks you get as 2 are covered. It's worth it if you plan on eating app, entree and desert for your meals. The other thing to think about is all the tips you will pay. As a family of 5 we paid around $400 in tip and alcohol (about 1 drink a day for dh and I) but we still saved on the deluxe plan.

4 nights = 12 credits each. To make DxDDP work, you should aim to spend at least 8-9 of those credits at TS locations.

If you feel that you're going to take advantage of the credits, both in number and entitlements (app, entree, dessert) and that the extra time (average 60-90 minutes per meal) and planning is going to be fine with you, then go for it.

With what you're already looking at, two 2 credit meals and a potential 3rd, as well as enjoying a sit down breakfast, it looks like it will be a good choice. This is assuming that you'd be eating your fill of the entitlements for each meal as well (app, entree, dessert, drink).

I personally love DxDDP as it fits with the way I want to eat at Disney. I typically do a lunch and a 2 credit dinner for about half of the trip, and sometimes throw in a CS here or there.
