To Dcl Staff

but we too would like to see a dress code enforced.

Put smoking varandas on one side of the ship and non-smoking on the other or at least move all smokers aft.

How about some non smoking Bingo times?

Keep up the good work of keeping the kiddies and us grumpy old folks seperated.

4 cruises down and a lifetime to go.

We are headed to Alaska next year and wish it were you in charge.

Barb, I think that the Palo/Spa reservations should be made at the same time as the cruise as a perk - "if you place the deposit, you can make your reservations for Palo or Spa now (or within x number of days)"

I really HATE the racing around to get reservations. There has to be another way besides having Category 1-3!

Rae

Pehaps they can offer limited reservations in advance so that the compulsive planners can be on the phone early and then find new things to have nightmares about. Then the people who either are not aware of what they want to do and just want to take it as it comes have a chance.
I think too that the DCL transportation that is picking people up at the resorts and bringing them to the ship needs to leave earlier. We are staying at the Polynesian and the bus isn't going to leave until like 12:15. Some people may even be BOARDING by then. I understand that they don't want to have hoards of people at the terminal trying to "rush" the gate, but we are going to have to make a mad dash to make our Palo/spa reservations assuming they have not already started by the time we board.
I can't wait though!! This is going to be a Wonderful trip!

Any way you can promise to keep Norwalk off the Magic? As everyone is aware my family is a 11/30 survivor!
I dont think I, my family, my friends, the people I work with, neighbors, acquaintances, or the DIS can go through that again!

by the way we'll be on the 11/8 Western so please make sure the Magic is healthy - thank you

How about being able to make Palo and spa reservatons as soon as your cruise is paid in full. An incentive for some compulsives to pay up early and DCL will have your money longer. Everyone will be happy.

Joanna

Ahhh, the New Yorker has figured it out - Okay, Joanna - now work your magic to get DCL to do it!!!!

AND while you are at it - ask them why they are closing down Offbeats a week earlier than scheduled for remodeling? I understand that they have determined that they NEED to close it and all the activities that take place in Off Beats to begin an early remodeling. (READ: NO Dueling Pianos! No Fidelio! No Anton!)

Considering how popular Dueling Pianos is and the talent involved, you'd have to wonder what DCL is thinking. Maybe the SUIT is from Indiana - that would explain the lack of thought given to this move.

Yes, I am angry!

yes, we know, you keep reminding us again and again.

Even tho I can not speak from experience on cruising , I do know one fact and that is that the DCL staff really do go out of their way to make sure that everything that can be done to either make things right or improve situations without any questions - they do read these boards to get an insight on how to go the extra lenght to make sure each of their passengers do experience the memories of a lifetime.
Thanks to those behind the scene that do so much especially D.A.I.D
Always

OK Rae, from one NYer to another I will post a poll about Palo and spa ressies and hope DCL reads it.

Another thing, why do you hate the dueling pianos so much? ;) I loved it. (Just kidding)

Talk to you soon

Michael told Fidelio that in a few years he will be his partner in Dueling Pianos!! My boy has plans!!! Not only that Michael told our priest that he was planning to play piano to help our Music Director out! Yes, my boy has plans!!!

Again, a big thanks to Fidelio for both his influence and encouragement to Michael in this area!

Fidelio rocks~!

I'd love to see a place for the 18-21 year olds. Or just some special activities for them. It seems they are the forgotten age gruop.

Dress code enforcement is fine the way it is.

Why are people so concerned with how others dress? Some people like to dress up and some do not. Disney recognizes this fact and deals with it accordingly. Why is it that only Disney seemed to figure this out and not some of the passengers?

Why can't you just dress up and leave others alone? :(

Honestly, I just don't understand why some folks have to point fingers and make comments about others.

Unrelated Suggestion: An Alaskan cruise would be great. My family would sign up in a minute.

Although my children are young 11 and 7, I also agree with you, they need something for that age group.

Joanna

Please....Give the people soda!!! Wouldn't you like to be announced as the FIRST cruise line to offer complimentary beverages? The publicity alone would be worth the expense. For us, it's not the cost - I'd rather pay upfront and not have to lug those stupid mugs around. How about prepaid soda cards which can be punched for each drink served? Anything but the mugs!

Keep doing whatever you're doing about disembarkation. I don't know how we just leisurely stroll off DCL while other cruise lines make you wait and wait and wait.

Yes, we pay extra. Yes, we go at the busiest time of the year. But darn it all, we keep rebooking. I guess that says it all.

What would the 18-21 age group want? Any suggestions?

Rae

I don't know, as my kids are young. But maybe a meet (happy hour) of some sort noted in the navigator, so they can all get together and get to know each other. Then let them take it from there. Sound good?

Joanna

Now that's a good idea!

A "meet and greet" in a special area just for that age group - no pressure - maybe some free food and soda for the added enticement?

They have a "singles" meeting - why not a young adult one?

Rae

I know your suggestion and comments will be received very warmly - keep the suggestions up - they do sound very good and reasonable -
I am sure they are being read.
Always
Shirley

ps I wanted to keep bumping this up also

Rae, we're in the wrong business. Should we send our resumes to DCL, great minds work alike.

Joanna

Edited to add, I hope your right Shirley. Hope all is well with you and Norm.
