good evening, due to a financial windfall my dream of owning DVC may become a reality in the next few years... I ve done a lot of reading in the last few days but have a few questions.
My family is me, ds17 ds15 and dd13 and DH. Due to the children's ages and imminent departure to uni, would it be appropriate to purchase points for a 2 bed (prob at Okw, as we pref that to ssr having stayed at both) or do I just buy enough points for a 1 bed which is what we ll need in the next few years anyway?
Is a point a point?? I get that home result means I get priority there only, but there seems to be a massive difference in price so am I missing something? We are the type of family that only use accompdation to sleep and or to chill by the pool. All the extras have little interest to us (right now, but that may change when we re not with kids!!)
As we d be hiring a car (am in the UK) location really isn't that much of an issue, in fact we loved the serenity of OKW rather than the bustle of ssr. Staying on the monorail is not something that d interest me (ok maybe for a night lol but not long term).
My plan would be together enough points for a week each year, and then bank etc so we can stay for two weeks every two years if that makes sense. At the moment that d have to be August but once kids are off would prob be sept or F&W...
Would buy resale and have looked at AKV for if I buy for future needs, or Okw if I buy for current needs, not a massive difference in outlay costs.. So what am I missing and what's your advice?
