To bring or not to bring...Camcorder

I was also trying to figure out if we wanted to lug around a camcorder and a few weeks ago we came up with a perfect solution. One of the on-line stores had an awesome deal on a Canon Powershot A70 digital camera. It turns out that it can also take video. I was not convinced that the quality would be very good but we took it to a party and used it last week and it really was quite good. We do need to buy more memory to be able to really utilize the recording option but I am thrilled to be able to capture live shots without the hassle of the camcorder.

We also have the Canon ZR45MC camcorder. We really like it. For our trip last Nov. we went to the camera store and bought a waist pouch camera bag. It was about $80.00 but it was worth it. My husband carried it on his waist and it was padded. We were able to put in the camcorder, extra batteries, and he also had room for other things (such as park maps, sunglasses, etc.).

My camcorder is an older model. But it does fit in my fanny pack! My dh has the back-pack, so if we go on a ride that will get us wet or is bumpy, he puts the camcorder in the back-pack in a plastic bag wrapped in a towel. I carry only the camcorder in my fanny pack. And we don't take it everyday. We tape a total of about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. each trip. Especially the parades. I vote for taking it. We also felt quite safe about leaving it in the room. We just tucked it in with the dirty laundry!!!

Bring it!

Yes, it is a pain to lug it around and on the rides, but it is SO worth it!

We have two videos, one from when my first DS was 2, and the other from our last trip when DS was 7 and our youngest DS was 3. They love watching the videos and they are the BEST Disney videos we own! LOL

Plus, whenever I need my "Disney fix", I just pop in a video and it's like being there again!

This might be alittle off the subject, but has anyone had any problems with condensation on the view finder of the camcorder when they left the air conditioned hotel room into the Florida heat and humidity. On a few vacations, it has taken the camera a few hours to adjust to the temperture change. We are then not able to record. Does anybody know how to avoid this problem? Thank you.

I say bring it along, you knew know what you may decde to film somthing, like the fireworks etc..

We went in March and took both the digital camera and video recorder. I used the digital camera all the time. I used the video recorder maybe 5 minutes on the first night before going to WDW. I think I would have used the video recorder more if I had not brought the digital camera. I did take all kinds of pictures though. I think I ended up with 350 pictures in all for a 7 day trip.
