To ATL and back:Disney Kids survive Snowpocalypse '11~4 month update

Just read your last update and checked out your photobook.

So glad you finally got home. That whole experience was such a nightmare. I'm glad everything went smoothly on your recent trip!

Great photobook. Very cool souvenir for everyone to have.

Can't wait to see pics of the baby in a few weeks!

Your photo book is AWESOME!!! Thanks so much for the tip about Picaboo. I'll have to check this out!

I haven't done a photo book before, just albums (and not even Scrapbooking, I use the drop in sleeve albums)

Thank you!! :)
You could always start now...you have 2 years of trip reports to remember the first years! Just start with this new year of Disney.

I use a program called Picaboo. It's free and you download it to your computer. I really like that you don't have to rely on the internet working/not freezing up on you to work on it (I'm making our "babymoon" one on Shutterfly right now cause I had a $20 gift card and it's driving me up a wall!). Anyway, once you have your book the way you want, you upload it to the Picaboo site (this is all within the program on your computer) and they give you the options of book sizes etc to order. Usually a 20 page book is around $25 or so and they almost always have good coupons or sales going on. For this trip I had a BOGO free code so we paid for 2 books and got 4 so each of us kids got one. :)

I also love that Picaboo gives you the creativity to do whatever you want. I have to fight shutterfly to change the layout of photos or use one of my photos as a background. Picaboo lets you do that all very easily, even if you start with a layout and just adjust it. OR they give you the option of just using their layouts and keeping it simple.

We've definitely talked about this before, haven't we? As soon as I read "Picaboo" in your post, I remembered. This time, I actually did download it and have been playing around with it a little tonight. I've been using shutterfly to do a book about Andrew's first year of school, so I'm all for something you think is easier than that! I do a page for each week, with extra pages for field trips, special events, etc.. and it's been a bit of a headache at times! That sounds like a good deal, too. :woohoo:

Thanks! I do love my photobook :-) I'm really proud of that one too. The one I'm working on now...not so much. I have so many other (baby related ;)) things that I would rather be working on so I really haven't given it a lot of time or effort. Ah well.

Thought you guys might like to see my most recent pregnancy photo though :) This was 2 weeks ago at 34 weeks

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! And Picaboo is awesome! I stumbled upon it after our first trip cause I found a code for a free first book and fell in love with it. If you do decide to make one, be sure to google "picaboo coupon codes" before ordering cause sometimes they have some really awesome unadvertised ones (like a First Book Free!)

 It's QUITE possible!! I tell EVERYONE about Picaboo. They should pay me for advertising!!

Aww a first year of school book sounds so cute (and super long!! :rotfl:) But I totally understand. I'm making a pregnancy book for Caden :). Every time we do something baby related (like putting together the nursery or the baby shower etc) or he has a "first" (like a baby bump's first trip to Disney!) I've been putting it in the book and it's all written like I'm talking to him. I'm excited to read it to him...in like 3 years when he understands a little more ;)

The picture is so cute! Looks like it is all baby, there!

Thanks for the heads up on the Picaboo code. I'm totally going to do a book for the anniversary trip my DH and I took to Puerto Rico last week.

Glad to see that you finally made it home safe and sound!

The facebook status updates were hilarious. Especially when the Econolodge one came true. Beyond gross.

I love the photobook you made! Super cute! I'm glad that you had great success with Picaboo, but I have to be honest, I had major issues with the program. I was making a book with the program for our May trip and was probably about 1/3 of the way through when the program froze. It totally screwed up one of my laptops and then continued to freeze on subsequent computers/laptops after that. And the only solution the customer service team had was to try to take control of my computer remotely (which I wasn't willing to do). Lucky for me, I was able to get a credit back on the groupon I purchased for the book so I have since just gone back to Blurb or Shutterfly. I liked the program when it worked, but now thinks it just doesn't work for us. But I'm glad it works for you!

Love the preggers pic! So cute! You are just all baby! Good luck and can't wait to see pics!

Awwww!! You look so cute! Like the others have said, you really are all baby, too. Hope you're ready! He's almost here!!

Love the belly pic! Although there's not a lot to see yet, we've been doing those too and I find it funny that your dog also wants to be in the picture (we always have to shoo Bailey out)! Very cute.

I remember the snow. I was out driving in it when it started. Took me two hours to drive ten minutes from my job to my apartment. I then had the fun of falling on the ice that Zaxby's forgot to do something about in front of their restaurant. I was out of work and school for a week. My kids loved it though. Thank God it hasn't snowed at all this year. You look so cute with the baby belly. Come visit Atlanta in the summer when it is a lot better :)

Thinking of you!! Tomorrow is the big due date, right? (If the little guy isn't here already!) Hope you're all doing well and can't wait to read a big announcement!! :yay:

Tomorrow IS the big day. Hopefully! No baby yet but I've been having regular Braxton hicks contractions since Sunday night. Today they've started feeling kinda cramp-y. I'm really hoping he gets here soon. I'm so ready to be done!!
I'll be sure to post once he's here :-)

I remember that feeling!! And both of mine had to be induced early, too! Hope he decides it's time soon and you have an easy delivery. I can't wait to see some pictures!

Well...since I'm still waiting for this kid to decide to get out (apparently he likes it in there!), I figured I'd put up some pics of my Disney nursery.

Here's the view from the door (closet is to my left)

Here's a pic of the border. I have a friend with a Cricut machine and she cut the quote out of vinyl for me. And I made the curtains (and the matching crib skirt).
IMG_2688.jpg

The quote says:
"So come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned. Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, to Never Never Land."
It's from Peter Pan the musical.

The quote is on 3 walls and the fourth wall has these (also cut out of vinyl on the Cricut)
Oh, you can also see the Jimminy Cricket shadow by the light switch.

There is also a Gus Gus and Jaques shadow on the floor by the door.

And a hidden Mickey in the quote

These are the wall hangings above the crib. They're from a 2008 calendar that I have been saving for my first kid's nursery. I love them!
IMG_2686.jpg

This is the mobile I made from an estate sale mobile and little baby Disney characters from the parks.
IMG_2683.jpg

His Disney babies waiting for him! I have wanted that Baby Simba for 3 trips and finally bought it this time! Dumbo I found at Target and couldn't pass up. And then Duffy and the Baby Mickey were brought back by 2 different students of mine who went on Disney trips and brought me back gifts for Caden. It was so sweet of them!!
IMG_2685.jpg

Changing table. I love the 101 Dalmatians cover that I found at Babies R Us.
IMG_2687.jpg

Shelf that Andrew found all on his own at Goodwill! I repainted the blue areas with the wall color but otherwise it was perfect!
IMG_2646.jpg

And finally...my favorite part of the whole room is the signature quilt that I made after our "babymoon" trip. We collected signatures the whole trip and then I made the quilt once we were home. It was a lot of fun!

 LOVE IT!!!

What a great room! You can just see all the love that went into it.

I've been thinking of you, so I'm glad you came on to give an update.

Wishing you a healthy delivery. Look forward to your news!

Dee

Love it! Great ideas...I especially love the quilt! This is great to see for inspiration, as our nursery is still in the guest/junk room state. Nice job!

I hope Caden decides to come check it out soon! :goodvibes

Awwww!! I love it! Everything looks great and so filled with love. The calendar pages are gorgeous and I love the character shadows. Jaques and Gus running with the key might actually be my favorite touch. I want them for MY room! :thumbsup2 The quilt is so sweet!

He'll love it! (Whenever he decides to come check it out anyway!)

Proud to announce the arrival of Caden Douglas!! 9 lbs 14.5 oz. 22" long! Arrived April 18th at 3:33a by c section (after 14 hrs of labor and 1.5 hrs of pushing :-p He was too big to get past my pelvis :( ).
Pictures to come...

Things are going well. Nights are a little rough (which was expected) but days are going pretty well. I'm recovering from the c section pretty well also. I'm a little sore but not too bad.

Yay, Caden's here! :cool1: I was wondering how things went, since I hadn't seen anything from you. Glad I jumped on now!

What a big boy! I'm glad that you are both doing well. Can't wait to see pics!

Wow! What a big boy! I've been wondering/worrying about ya. I'm super glad to read everything is okay and he's finally here! Can't wait to see pics!! :yay::yay:
