To all you night owls, are you missing pool access?

Just left BCV. Quiet pool was open all night. We loved enjoying the hot tub and pool, as did other members. Met some lovely people late night.

The posted hours were "open 24 hours" or did security not enforce the posted hours?

I found a list of 24 hour pools as of 2015. Would be interesting to see if these still are:

No clue. The gates were all open and people were openly enjoying the pool. Our room overlooked the pool so even when we weren't in it we could see/hear it. It honestly didn't even occur to me that it possibly wasn't "open". I didn't ever see a sign with posted hours - but I wasn't looking for it either. I've always just found the pool gates locked in the past.

They don't have lock controls on many of the new fenced in pools but they still have the same hours as they always did. They are posted and at BCV I believe the sign is in the vicinity of the hot tub. Walking past the pool would be blocking access to the Villas lobby and I doubt they'd ever have someone come around with padlocks. They did not install band readers there.

Boo, I'm disappointed to hear this. Some of our fondest memories are of night swimming with extended family. Too bad the minority ruined it for the majority; feels like high school all over again, lol!

At Bwv last month. For the first two weeks of may the main pool closed at 9:00pm every night. Gate locked. I don't know what time the villa pool closed or the garden pool.

Yep was just at Kidani last week and the pool closed every night at 10:00 PM You had to get out of the water there was no choice.
I assume pool at Jambo same situation? That is so sad.... I love to swim at night after long day in parks....

Last September at OKW, they were closing the main pool at 10 PM and the lifeguards were instructing us that we had to leave, but we could go to the quiet pools as they did not close. Maybe they shouldn't have been doing that, but maybe it's an unwritten rule, since those pools are swim at your own risk.

I do miss being able to go to the pool after coming back from the park. Loved sitting on the edge near a jet and it massaging the bottom of my feet.

OP here, can you clarify, we are BCV owners and I'm trying to picture the villa pool. So its not completely gated off late at night, we do have access to the hot tub and pool?

Like the use of a hot tub late in the night for use during the early part of the year. The pools, during the day.

When we were at BCV in Jan, the Storm-a-way bay was closed at 8 with signs at every entrance but people were swimming in the DVC pool past 10p. Same for the SSR pools - the one closest to DS stayed open (no fence) but the pools with slides and kid splash zones were fenced and closed.

I loved the hot tub late after the races. And enjoyed swimming laps at some of the pools that were big enough before people were awake.
