To all you night owls, are you missing pool access?

For the first time in many years we've been going to BCV, this past Fall I enjoyed a great dip in the pool at about midnight. It was awesome! So since its been gated (so disappointing they're not letting us have key access), do you miss late night swimming?

I haven't been yet, but I will be extremely disappointed if this is the case at AKL-Jambo... I love swimming at night, especially on vacation. If the weather's right in November, I'll be swimming from dinner til midnight :p

Anyone who's been to AKL (Kidani or Jambo), give me good news? I was under the impression pools are 24/7, but swim-at-your-own-risk after lifeguards went off-duty (and that they sometimes close completely for weather, sure).

Due to liability and accidents, the pools are now fenced and closed overnight. Security will remove you if you use the pools after closing hours.

Yup, just back from AKL and POFQ and all locked up Tight with fences! No swimming....

Most of the pools close promptly at 10p or earlier. No swimming until the morning after that.

Yep was just at Kidani last week and the pool closed every night at 10:00 PM You had to get out of the water there was no choice.

I will. We like to swim at night after the parks close. That's the one thing DH hated about SAB last time we stayed at the YC. He's not happy to hear that all of the pools now close early.

Mark us in the disappointed slot too. We would enjoy getting in the pool after a long day at the parks, but now by the time we get back, we don't have time to change and swim.

I just really wish, for DVC'rs, they'd give us key access after 10:00 pm.

I can deal with 10pm, it's the 8pm closings that happen in off season that are tough. Hopefully they'll start keeping them open til 10pm all year.

Not that i ever go swimming at night....but i am interested if this includes all the quiet pools??

I was at SSR Grandstand in May and was told the pool there (the quiet pool I believe it is) was a 24 hour pool. We saw it still in use after 11:00 but weren't around the pool area any later than that.

We were at BWV in February...pools closed at 8PM, so we never got in. I would love to have had them open until 10 or 11PM as we used to enjoy using the pool after getting back from the parks.

:( I hope they don't close at 8 in November, but that sounds likely...

well, still going to swim as much as possible! what time do pools open in the morning? 6?

All pools have posted hours, swimming after hours is now a Disney no, no. Security will ask you to leave if you stay past or enter a pool after hours. Per security there were several incidents with late night drinkers parting around the pools after hours, being loud, making messes, even putting furniture in the water.

Oh man, that sounds like a friend we brought with us one year after a night at Jellyrolls. Well minus the furniture being thrown in the pool......

As others have mentioned during several months of the year the pools close at 8:00 which I find a bit absurd. I was there in March with pleasant weather in the high 70s, and to have the pools close so early was very disappointing. I enjoy a quick dip in the pool or hot tub after the parks before bed.

10:00 I can understand somewhat, but anything earlier than that is annoying IMO.

Yes, we do not like it either. DH sometimes like to go for an evening swim after returning to the resort, in the hot tub was always on the table so very annoying.

The craziest one though? Aulani. When we've been there the pool is closed by six or 7 PM! That's nuts. I can't keep you are the ocean though.
