Hello! We are busily planning an upcoming trip to WDW this May, and have booked a 1BR at the BCV...when we called about availability, we had our choice of all 5 and DH opted for BCV because of SAB (DS3.5 discovered how much he loves swimming at VWL this past December and DH is keen to get him back in a really excellent pool!). Last year we had a 2BR at OKW in May and loved it...this past Nov/Dec we had a 1BR at VWL and LOVED that! So now I am prepared to love BCV - we ate dinner at Beaches and Cream last trip and it really was very lovely - but I still feel this twinge and desire to stay at VWL...more because I am familiar with it rather than not wanting BCV. I loved the boat to MK, loved the Christmas decs (which obviously will not be there) and loved the whole atmosphere. We will be making the attempt to stay at VWL next Nov/Dec again so it is nice to try something new. Also, May is a "beachy" trip beginning our summer time and BCV seems appropriate.

So...I know there are many of you out there who really enjoy BCV as much as we fell in love with VWL (from the moment we had our first DVC sales chat several years ago to the moment we stepped in the lobby last May after finally purchasing our points) and I would love to hear from you all the special things that make the BCV holiday so magical!

Again, I am very much looking forward to the trip - it is just a matter of not knowing what to expect versus experience. And we do love Epcot...

Any information is much appreciated! I am loving the planning process (do you all feel like there is something missing if you don't have another trip in the works when one ends???) and would enjoy hearing from all of you BCV Lovers out there.

Thanks!!!
Jennifer :earsgirl:

We usually end our days in Epcot, or MGM for Fantasmic, and love being able to walk home afterwards instead of dealing with the buses. I love the light & airy feel, the color scheme, the beach, being able to walk or take the bus over to the Boardwalk, Stormalong Bay of course, Beaches & Cream for a treat, and Art the Greeter. I love that it's in the middle of all the action yet quiet and peaceful. I love the common areas too. I just love everything about it!

1. 3-5 minute stroll to England/France
2. 3-5 minute stroll to boat dock for MGM
3. Walk through Epcot option for monorail to MK
4. Light and breezy decor
5. Room service
6. View of Illuminations (from many rooms)
7. Quick stroll to many, many dining choices in World Showcase and Boardwalk
8. Stormalong Bay
9. Food and drink waitress/waiter service at the pool (big plus for us...pampering is good!)
10. Beaches and Cream
11. Nice workout facility
.....that's all for now! We love our "home," and, although we have points elsewhere, Beach Club is where we really feel the most magic!

I haven't had a DVC trip to BCV yet, but I have stayed at the Yacht Club. You can't beat the location! Being able to walk to Epcot or MGM, and having the VAST dining options of the Boardwalk, combined with the YC, BC, and Swan/Dolphin resort restaurants, as well as the Epcot dining options so close by can't be beat. The pool is phenomenal. As a matter of fact, I had to twist my DH's arm a little to chose BWV for the second part of our upcoming summer trip. He wanted BCV for Stormalong Bay.

This is exactlywhat I was looking for! Thank you all so much!

Hi,

Mom & I were just @ BCV!! Great time! If anyone has a sweet tooth then stop by beaches & cream!! Have fun!

Allison

The most serenely beautiful hotel in the Epcot resort area...

2 minute walk to Epcot, 10 minute walk to MGM, 2 minute walk to the Boardwalk restaurants and clubs...

The ability to watch and listen to Illuminations from your room....

Beaches and Cream...

Cape May Cafe for character breakfasts...

Stormalong Bay and the quiet pool in back...

There are some of mine. For me it's the perfect location because Epcot is my favorite park, and the feel of the resort just relaxes me.

We love WL, our family stayed there first and we really debated buying points at BCV. What we have found is that it is almost as quiet and peaceful, yet you are not isolated and limited on your options especially at night. There are so many options such a short walk away so you don't have to really think and plan, unlike at VWL. Walking to and from Epcot at night is really special.

Now if they would only pipe in some MUSIC!

Other advantages:

1. Cape Mays
2. ESPN is great (carry out too)
3. Really great beach!!
4. Boat to MGM
5. Nightly Illumination views (otherwise, just walk in)

Pipe in some beach sounds like waves crashing on the dunes... :cloud9:
I can wish right?

Another BCV lover here, and for all the same reasons stated above. I just love walking back from both Epcot and MGM after Illuminations/Fantasmic and NOT having to wait for transportation. The MGM walk is about 20 minutes, but VERY nice. We love it! And the walk to/from Epcot is GREAT - 5 minutes TOPS.

I fully understand your VWL love too! We own at both VWL and BCV because we love both resorts so much. We typcially vacation in the Summer for 2 weeks - one at each resort. Its the perfect combination for us! I think you will LOVE BCV!

We just had our first stay at the BCV last month. I don't have any other tips to add to the list, but we loved our stay. We purchased points there a couple of years ago but had never used them there. Our bigger contracts are at the BWV, which we also love, so we always used the BCV at the BW or OKW. We certainly would go back. I had absolutely no issues, the CMs very friendly, the room was in great shape and we loved the view of Illuminations from our deck. We were in a 1 bdr, 546.

Ditto everything and I will add these (not sure I saw them)

Short walk to mini-golf
Marina at the Yacht Club
Garden Tour (I think they still do it?)

All of the above, plus:

Walking back from Epcot in the evening, just as you get to the beginning of the Beach Club, stop and take in the view. The beach, the lake, all the lights across the way at the Boardwalk. It's beautiful!

Walking into BCV, don't know why, but it smells different from all the other resorts. It smells really good.

I want to thank you all for these great posts - I've been reading them out loud to DH and suddenly all the plans are flowing - somehow the thought that we could walk through Epcot, have coffee or breakfast at Fountainview, then head over to MK via monorail (DS3 adores the monorail!) for the morning and back to Epcot again just tickles me! Relaxing by the pool and using the marina also appeal...and we're looking forward to exploring Boardwalk.

I do so appreciate all of you responding to me! I love reading trip reports to see what other people do at our favorite vacation world and I just knew your experiences could really get us all excited about our trip without the pangs of missing VWL. Now...to cross my fingers that we either get VWL or waitlist into it for the next trip. Our 7 month window is while we're at BCV...maybe the BCV pixie dust will help ;)

Hi,
We recently stayed at Boardwalk in July. Walked over to BC for a short visit to eat and see SAB. Both very beautiful hotels. I know you'll have a great time. Just fair warning... We decided to visit, our favorite, WL during our stay. OH MY GOODNESS! The feeling that came back as soon as we walked into the lobby....aaah the music. The kids were saying how much they missed WL, the pool, Roaring Forks Snacks, the ferry rides to MK, just everything about the atmosphere. They got over it but needless to say, we'll be going back there in May. Hope this doesn't scare you. All of the DVC resorts are beautiful I'm sure. It's just that once you experience that special feeling with your family, it's hard to duplicate. Have a great trip! :D

slk537....we bought our first contract at BCV from Disney, and recently bought a re-sale VWL contract. We stayed at BCV last March. We have 4 kids and you should have seen the look on their faces when we walked into our 2 bedroom. You could see SSE as big as day right outside the glass door. They all ran over and went "WOOOOOWWWWWW!" It was priceless :D Ditto everything else everyone else said too...Lacee

laceemouse, do you remember your room number or what floor you were on and other things about your view? Just asking for a possible future stay. Thanks!

Ditto to all the above and I have one more to add!

I love the fact that if it is pouring down rain, I do not have to get wet to get something to eat. We also own at BWV and you cannot get something to eat with out getting wet in a down pour. We all know how the Fl weather can be!
