Yeah! It's over! Everything went OK. Molly did great. I got home at 5:30pm yesterday from Miami. I was so wiped out after having only 8 hrs sleep in 2 days. Couldn't go to work today since Molly wasn't walking. She is sore plus I think she was afraid to walk. But by the afternoon today she started taking tiny little steps and then was running. I thought they were going to put a catheter in one leg, but she had one in each groin and one in her neck.
My mom observed the night nurse going between patients without washing her hands (other pt in the ICU room was an 8 mo. old baby with a staph infection in the heart). The nurse went from the baby to remove Molly's pressure dressings without washing her hands and then touched the catherter insertion area with her bare finger to see if there was drainage! Then in the middle of the night while I was in the sleep (HA,HA) room, Molly was calling for me and the nurse was NO WHERE around so the mother of the baby went and found the nurse who was visiting with other staff across the ICU. The nurse then wakes me up out of a sound sleep and when I get to Molly I found out that she just needed to pee. That night nurse was also overheard saying shut up over & over to the crying baby. All this was reported to the charge nurse and my mother told the mother of the baby. That mother told the charge nurse that the night nurse better never come near her baby again. I'm glad we got out of there! And we were only there for 24 hrs.
