TL or BB...what is the biggest difference?

Trying to decide between TL & BB..I personally want to do TL since we have done BB in the past...plus I want to do the "swimming with the fishes" that is on the Mickey Sing along Beach Party tape.

My 2 DS are ages 9 1/2 and 4 1/2........obviously the older loves the slides and tubes. and the younger one likes slides as long as they are open and not too fast...he is quite tall, 44 inches so meets the requirement for most.

Any thoughts on which to do???

Thanks!

We've done both, and I like TL better. DS was 4 when we went and is only now as tall as your son (he is 6 now but he's little), and the wave pool would send him flying, but he'd come up laughing (we took his life vest with us). The older kids (then 7 and 10) absolutely LOVED the wave pool. The lazy river there is better than BB, although BB has the better, longer "family" raft ride.

We did TL for the first time last week and we weren't at all impressed. Yes, the wave pool is very cool and we spent the majority of our time there. The biggest difference between BB and TL is the speed of the rides. TL has VERY SLOW rides. Even the tube rides are slow and short. The family raft ride had about three turns and you were finished. Plus at TL there are a lot of stairs getting to rides. And I don't mean stairs that you just walk up....you constantly go up and then down, up and down. Even my 10 year old DD commented on why you would walk down if you are trying to walk up to a ride. I'd say with the ages of your children, BB would be best. But you can always try it for yourself as we did this time.

I agree with Rock'n Robin!! I like TL better too. The wave pool is a blast. My 6 year old learned how to swim on that huge wave when he was just 4 years old. Also, I see enough snow all winter long and that is not something I want to be looking at in Florida.

I think the biggest difference is that BB has more attractions aimed at the 4 - 10yo crowd. The ski patrol area is great, and there's nothing like it at TL. We also love the longer family raft ride at BB - the kids couldn't believe the ride was over at TL so quickly. The clincher is that BB has the ski lift - climbing the stairs for that 20th slide on those poor old Disneyed out feet is tiring!

Having said that, though, the shark tank and wave pool at TL are lots of fun.

My Spin on what I see the differences are:

TL: Has a wave pool that alternates to bobbing waves and really big body surfing waves. BB only has bobbing waves. Also TL wave pool is way bigger than BB

TL has a shark reef to swim across. (Althought I think its too cold for me to do and I fear those fish coming near me lol)

Blizzard Beach has a huge ski lift to get you to the top of the hill. They also have stairs if you dont want to wait in line for the lift. The lift line does move pretty fast.

Both parks have a lazy river just different theming.

There are many more slides in BB than TL but both parks have some slides.

I dont know much about the kids area yet as this August will be my first time with young kids.

PS I prefer TL because of all the variety and I love the big rollign waves most. Ive been to both water parks 3 - 5 times now.

Another difference I haven't seen mentioned is that TL has much more shade than BB. We love the Disney waterparks & always go to both of them on our trips.
