Going in early July so I know reserving a spot will be a good idea. Does anyone have any experiences good/bad with either? Pictures? I'm leaning toward just the umbrella & chairs (there are only 3 of us), but could perhaps splurge on a shack if it's worth it!

Thanks

We reserved chairs/umbrella for 4 in July 2013 and we loved it - without the reserved spots we would not have stayed more than a few hours. Having the place to leave your stuff, relax (and even fall asleep for a little while) made it a full day waterpark adventure. LOVED IT!

Did you find the umbrella/chair combo enough? We're going July 3rd this year...so I was worried about the crowds. Enough room with just the chairs/umbrella??? Did you call ahead & do it or do it day of visit?

thanks for your thoughts!!

We rented the beachcomber shack 2 years ago and have rented again for this year. There were 4 adults and 2 kids. I think 6 is the max occupancy without paying extra. There are only places for 6 to sit, so it won't be huge for the three of you. I loved it because you get lots of shade all day (or protection from passing showers), refillable mugs, towels, locker to keep phones etc secure. You get water bottles and a waiter to get your food and whatever you need. There is a sandy area for the kids to play in inside the roped off area. For us it was well worth it.

Would just add we reserved the similar Polar Patio at Blizzard Beach in 2010 - same amenities. It was awesome. Made it a special day. Our location was next to the lazy river, so much fun to watch everyone float by. We also happened to be close to the drink station.

Hi. Thanks for asking this OP. We plan on being there on July 3rd as well and wondering the same thing...should we rent umbrella/chairs set up or not. :confused3 We plan on being there at ropedrop until about 1:00. I am just looking for a place to leave our stuff and to sit back every now and then. There are 5 of us though meaning we would need to rent two so I am not sure if it is worth it for us. Does anyone know if I can reserve two of these next to each other? And, do they need to be reserved in advance in order to get one or can you do it on the day you are there? I am so worried about the crowds and would like it to be relaxing as it is our first visit to the WPs while at DW, but dont want to pay for it if it is not really required.

If you arrive when they open you will have no problem finding chairs for your group. We and it appeared everyone else, left our stuff on and under our chairs and no one touched anything. Did watch birds stealing snack food from a chair near us. So keep that kind of thing closed up. Lots of shady spots too - we sat near the tween area last time we were there. Most of the chairs were shaded. We were there in June though

I had planned on getting there early and grabbing three chairs that the 5 of us could share. Now, I am hearing that July 3rd will be very busy at the WPs and that we may find it difficult to find the chairs even early in the day (and in keeping them if we do get them). So hard to know, but nice to hear about someone else's experience. I have never been to TL, but have read that on crowded days, the seating areas are so full, you feel like people are pressed up on your seats from all sides. I am hoping that it will not be that bad. If it is that congested on crowded days, I would prefer to spend the money for a bit of personal space...even if we use it sparingly while there.

It's perfect timing you asked this! I reserved the private chair combo for Blizzard Beach the first week of June but couldn't find many opinions. I know this for TL but I imagine experiences would be similar! I have no desire to come back to chairs and find our stuff gone or thrown to the side and the chairs commandeered haha!

By reserving the umbrella/chairs for the four of us, we felt we had more than enough room to spread out. The area is watched by castmembers and only people with bracelets were allowed in the roped off area. I thought the cost was well worth it. After 11AM, that place was packed and we felt like we had our own quiet, private area to relax in. We called ahead to be sure we had the reservation - you can cancel within 24 hours if you need to. We have reserved it again - two spots for 5 of us, so we'll really spread out this time!

If you want a cabana or the umbrella/chairs, call ahead and reserve. During the busy summer months, these amenities are generally sold out before the park opens.

When you reserve these ahead of time, can you request a certain area? Thanks!
