M&N brought up the cheesecake....not me. :rotfl: I was an innocent in all of that.

Things are going good here. We are in the new place and the kids like their new schools. That's the main thing I was hoping for.

How are things on your trip?

As you can see, we have been keeping out of trouble. Some sickness but it could have been worse. We were worried about doggie Disney but he's doing better. Walter has been growing. The weather hasn't been too bad...winds and rain but no damage to TKers from the hurricane that turned to a ts and went across FL panhandle and up the east coast. I haven't even had a flower killing frost yet.

I went to an outdoor concert on SAturday to see Katy Perry. She was fantastic! But got so sick, lost my voice for a while.

Pretty hot here, everyone is still recovering from the floods. eVerytime it rains, people get scared. all the proceeds from the concert went to the red cross.

I was wondering how the move went! So glad to hear the kids are doing well. its always hard. how's the new digs?

I don't think it was me who brought up cheesecake...you are the one who loves it!

Didn't you bring up pumpkin pie first? :lmao:

Magikitty, it's so nice here but strange because the house is so much bigger than we are use to. We only have a little bit to unpack yet and some pictures to hang. Once it is done, I'll post some pictures.

I can't even imagine how scared they must get over the rain now. I think Mother Nature is one scary woman.

oh, cheesecake. its almost time for lunch here anyway....

its so wonderful that your place has space for you family to grow more memories. i'm sure you'll get used to it soon enough!;)

What does pumpkin pie have to do with cheesecake? I think I was discussing tday?

I don't see why they say Mother Nature...mothers should not be mean to their kids!

I think when we were discussing cheesecake, pumpkin pie came into the conversation somehow. :confused3

Ok, no more cheesecake/pumpkin pie conversation for tonight. It's over a week till T-day and I don't even want to think about all the fattening foods I'm going to eat.

I think everyone has to have a piece of pumpkin cheesecake on turkey day in my honor. I am making chicken and mashed potatoes for the day here.

Pumpkin cheesecake would be yummy!

Did you watch DWTS? I like who's in the finals.

Pumpkin cheesecake sounds like the best of both worlds. I wonder if I can get my DD to try to make some.

I haven't watched DWTS since the very beginning of the season. Nobody really caught my interest this time. Who made the finals?

JOCA..if DD can make pumpkin cheesecake tell her she has a customer in me! I won't be back for some, unless i can find it somewhere, old and crusty!

Mya & Dmitry Chaplin -- Kelly Osbourne & Louis Van Amstel -- Donny Osmond & Kym Johnson. I think Mya may be the best dancer. I would like Kelly to win. I think she's been the most improved. Donny is good but he really has the showbiz personality to work with.

I don't even watch and I want Kelly Osbourne to win. She's come so far and is really blossoming. although i think she's too young to be engaged.

Magikitty, if DD can make some and it turns out good, I'll have her make more for when you get back. :goodvibes

M&N, I did like Kelly and I'd like to see her win. Mostly to see how Ozzy would react.

Need to get to bed. Have a nice night!!!!

sweet dreams ladies! now that I've found the internet cafe, i should be around more! Missed you guys!

M&N and DD I am so sorry for your loses. My prayers will be with you both.

Oooooh ladies those recipes all sound wonderful! So now does anyone have a great recipe for a really good broccoli/rice/cheese casserole? I have always used Cheese Whiz but I would really like to see if I can find an improved recipe. It sounds like everyone has got a great turkey day planned.

wendy, I hope your puppy is okay. Sounds like you are really progressing with your knee. Glad you have a good PT helping you!
If we had our way we would probably be just like your dad and just stay home for TG. We suck it up a few times a year and go see DH's family. Love his brother but the rest of the family we could do without. They always seem like they think they are better than we are. His niece e-mailed me today to say that her son was collecting money for a toy drive. He wanted to donate gift cards. I do not have an issue with donating. However, especially at this time of year, we have our own charities we prefer to donate to. Guess I am getting old and crabby cause it annoyed me that the few times we see them I guess we are now going to start being solicited for money. Somehow, I doubt they would be willing to donate to the causes we find important.

D&D, that is very sweet of you to shop for TG for that family. I am sure they will appreciate what you are doing for them.

Our adopted Granny called today. She said her son was having his other family over for the week and she probably would not be going to their house. She said she was not looking for an invite but I rather suspect otherwise. DH says her health is getting too bad for us to be taking her out. I am hoping to convince him to let us take her at least a couple more times for the holidays. She sounded like she might be feeling kinda lonesome so at the very least I am gonna make sure we get up to the nursing home to visit her for Thanksgiving.

JOCAmom, I am glad your kids are enjoying the house and their new big yard. I bet you are loving the extra space too.
The ADRs we have on the agenda are Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace and Tony's in MK, Rainforest Cafe in AK, Garden Grill and Teppan Edo in Epcot, Prime Time Cafe in DHS. (Also going to Sci-Fi for dessert or a shake) Will be going to the HDDR one evening too. (Outside of the park we gotta go to Bubba Gump for one meal.) Also will have a ton of counter services to fill in where needed. I'm thinking Cosmic Ray's, Columbia Harbor House and Pecos Bill in MK, Yorkshire Fish Shop or Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, Yak & Yeti or Flametree in AK. That should get us quite an assortment. While we are trying a little of this and a little of that DS will probably be munching on turkey legs as often as he can. He loves those things!
So sorry that you are dealing with DD's beginning stages of pms. How old is she again? I am not looking forward to that with my DD!

Pikester, I hope your preparations are going well. Just about time to be filling up those suitcases! It is nice that your DH gets in on the plans with you.
My family is totally dependent on me to make all the plans. I really don't mind cause it is fun to surprise them and wow them with all my knowledge! Still.... it might be nice to have a little input. NAH! Not in my case cause they probably would not agree with me and come up with stupid ideas. Best leave things like they are around here. Keep them at my mercy!

So funny about your DH sleeping in the recliner. Reminds me of when I was a kid. Every time my dad sat in the recliner he fell fast asleep but man he could wake up in a snap if anyone tried to change the channel on the tv!

DL55, sounds like you had a good trip. Nice to get away for special events. Real mashed taters? You are going all out, aren't you? :rotfl:

BKMETV, hope you can make it the rest of the week with DH at home! ;) Are the Great Wolf Lodges as cool as they make them sound? I think it would be fun to take the kids on maybe one of their birthdays.

M&N, hope your ATM card shows up so you don't have to be worried about it. It is such a pain when you loose that kind of stuff.
I am looking forward to seeing those Osburne lights... and everything else too. I hope you make it to see them this year! Sounds like your friend hit the MVMCP on a very good night to avoid the crowds. I imagine the party would be fun but honestly we will be totally give out by the time the park closes anyway so we will be skipping MVMCP.
Have fun playing with your little guest Thursday!

Hi Kitty! We have been missing you! Hope you are feeling better now and having a good trip. God bless you while you are on the rest of your trip.

We never watch DWTS but we would have to vote for Kelly Osbourne too. DS loves Ozzy. :sad2: Another funny one we actually knew about that was on there was Chuck Liddell one of the fighters from the UFC. I watched his video. He was so bulky and muscle bound that he looked really unnatural to be dancing. He seemed really stiff.

Time for lights out around here!

Good morning...thought I would wake up the thread.

I'm going to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs today. My teacher friend who is out for foot surgery is going with me. We cannot go to the theater here because it's only open at night. Mom said don't the little old ladies want to go then? Wait until I tell my friend...she's younger than I am.

It is cloudy here but sunny at mom's---24 miles away. I guess the clouds have to stop somewhere.

Kitty checked in!!!!! Kitty!

I am a happy camper over here. Had a great PT session. The PT is really pleased with how I am doing. He measured me at 102 degrees, and I'm doing 106 on "the rack". Plus he measured my other knee at 110. He says no problem at all with riding a bike by Christmas. Plus I just heard from WalMart and my bike is in!!! I have to go over there and "pick it up", just to give it back to them to assemble. (but they want to make sure it's the right bike, right color, etc, before they assemble, so it does make sense)

Puppy is doing much better. I fed him normally this AM and he ate some but not all of the food, like he usually does (before camp). He's also more playful, and sleeping through the night again. I think he's on the mend! He'll be on the antibiotic 2 weeks for the UTI, and hopefully then all will be well. The vet visit wasn't cheap, but it was worth every penny to find out that he's ok!

Marie, I know exactly what you mean about relatives hitting you up for donations. I have a cousin whose kids send me solicitations for school events several times a year. But have they EVER made a donation to MY kids' stuff, or my walkathons? Nope. So I don't send them a dime.

I just have to ask about your adopted granny. Her son is having his "other family" for TG? ***????? This is his MOTHER!!! She IS his family! If he can't be bothered to have her for TG, then he is a worthless sack of scum for a son! I can't imagine TG without my parents. Even when I was married and we invited the inlaws, we had my parents too. There was never any question about it! I hope she writes him out of the will. I think you are right to want to have her with you for the holiday. No one should have to be alone. I'd invite all the strays if I could! The more the merrier!

Hmmmm, pumpkin cheesecake? I dont' care for pumpkin pie, but the cheesecake I could probably go with. Hmmmmmm....
