Hey all:

Enjoying a quiet day...have the house to myself and just puttering away.



Last concert I went to...several years back was Crosby, Stiles & Nash, and Chicago...they were fantastic. We had gone 'cause DH is into CSN but I loved Chicago.

I had a real hard time with the Mom's reaction to DD's finger...except for one little girl the kids all have older siblings so I'm sure it's not the first time they've seen it. Apparently it's been the new thing on the school bus for a couple of months. I had to punish DD for disobeying me, but I still felt like telling the Mom to lighten up...did she really need to tell all the other parents...it's not like Kate was passing out drugs or something really serious.

I didn't want to say anything at first, but I totally agree with you. I would have said something smart like, I will talk to my daughter but I will also make sure she doesn't hang out with your kid anymore, mine must not be as perfect as yours.

MagiKitty We still watch TV in thunderstorms too. Growing up in So Cal we seldom had thunderstorms. Plus all the utilities are underground here.

Regarding weight...unfortunately exercise is needed and I hate exercise. Although I try to watch what I eat, it's summer, ice cream season.

Wow, the last day of school. What I can't believe is that DD graduates next Wednesday! I feel so old (I'm 40)

So I made me a Dr. Apt. for next week. The latest trick my body is pulling is swollen Ankles when I sit too long. It kinda freaks me out and I REALLY wish I had stayed away from Google.

Magikitty- Just wanted to tell you I have now moved on to Reese's Cups. Had Salt, now I need Sugar...It's a rule ya know.

Wow, thanks! I am going to try the tennis ball thing. My Dr. will be so proud when I go in on Wed and say I tried this and it helped. It will probably help him!

MK--your closet antics are cracking me up! My sister informed me today that she is bringing me 2.5 suitcases full of her clothes that dont fit her anymore but should fit me. !!! I think I am going to need a MUCH bigger closet!! I love your take on ice cream seasons. I agree that ice cream is ALWAYS in season. But my list is just vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, vanilla. What can I say, I am boring about my ice cream...

M&N, our weather has been lousy too. Poor DS. He worked so long and hard to finally get a fire going for their youth group tonite. It was looking good--and then it started pouring! Needless to say, that was the end of the fire...

OK, all this talk about weight and babies. I always say I gained 50 pounds with each of my kids (which I did). People say, "oh, thats not unusual". And I respond with my "yeah, but they are adopted!!" Thankfully I have shed the baby weight and then some, but I totally identify with all of you with weight issues, as I have battled them my entire life.

BTW, I have gotten no notifications for posts here, so an entire day passed between me checking in. Whats up with that? More attempts to get rid of me?

Pepper - Happy Anniversary...hope you enjoy Black Friday Sounds like something my DH would say.

Back to the titilating conversation the other night...I just got an invite to a **** Voyage Party...one of the girls I went to High School with is a carrier for the cancer gene and all the women in her family have died young from Breast cancer...she decided since she's 45 she didn't need the "parts" and more so as a precaution, has had a hysterectomy and next week the "ladies" are coming off. Her attitude has been great about the whole thing, but it just seem very weird to be going to a party over this.

Gotta go and start the laundry...TTYL

I guess under the circumstances your friend has got to do all she can to keep a positive outlook. At least she is being proactive instead of waiting for the other shoe to drop. I do agree though it would be feel kinda strange going to a celebration party.


All is quiet on the home front this morning. DH took off a "sick day" so we will see how that throws our normal routine out of whack. My washing machine is not acting right so maybe I can wrangle him into taking a look. Probably not because he always has better things to do than help with things around the house.

Hey---Good morning. Just jump in whenever. You can always add whatever whenever. It wasn't our first (or last) discussions on those 2 subjects! I am a slow typer and I have dial-up which makes me really slow but I keep trying. I go to my mom's every weekend so I miss Friday pm to Mon pm. Sometimes, that's a lot of catching up but I enjoy it. Racetrack is still in FL and Whgrn is away so maybe not too chatty this weekend.
Do you have anything special planned?
I hope your DD isn't planning on another chicken supper?
