Afternoon everyone! Not to bad today, definitely better weather than yesterday. Not quite warm enough for June yet, but saw a little of the sun earlier and that's made my day.

SHMU!!!!!! How are ya, girl? So good to see you. How's the family? I'm really bad at Facebook, but I do try to stop by once a week....

Closet hasn't fully collapsed yet, but I expect it to any day now. I just don't have time or patience. Just wearing stuff out of the laundry basket at the moment. Fully intend to corral nephew to help me rebuild, but am a bit embarrassed at all my stuff....I so need to clean it out, but that's such a huge commitment!

Speaking of nephew, he bought me a cannoli today. That's a good boy.

Debating whether I should get tix to see Earth, Wind, and Fire and Chicago this weekend. really, really want to go, but feel guilty about the money. Holding out until Friday to fully assess the economic situation. I do love their music. Have to see the weather report if I'll get lawn seats. Don't want to be flooded out!

Will chat later, hope everyone's having a great day....

Hi, everyone!!

I need a little break. My DH's grandfather had all these annoying animals that sing and dance when you push a button. Well, after he died the family decided to give these to the great-grandchildren (at the time we had 4 of the greats, lucky us). DD(1) fell in love with this ridiculous chicken. It has reindeer antlers with bells on them and ear muffs :confused3 and it plays the chicken song. We've had it hidden from her for months. And, yep, you guessed it, she found it today. So it is either listen to an almost 2 yr old scream cause she wants to play with the chicken or listen to the chicken song played over and over and over.

Maybe I should make chicken for dinner tonight for revenge.

Oh, and good luck with the closets! I dread dealing with closets, also.

SCHBR...I laughed out loud when I read you were thinking about serving chicken for dinner. Really, really funny. But that could start an entirely different sort of screaming...

Good luck and don't let the chicken get you down! :lmao:

MagiKitty: We need Pikester to get a closet smilie for you for good luck! I wouldn't worry about the mess. My philosophy is: Love me, love my mess! Just who did you pm? According to my list all yours have all posted except Mags and Racer...unless we both did the top half? :rotfl: I hope the weather is good for the concert...it sounds like a winner. I get to see Chubby Checker at Hershey...at least it's free!

SCHBR'smom: :rotfl2: You fit right in here! My mom loves those critters. She has a dalmation dressed like a fireman singing Ring Of Fire! I think the chicken dinner is perfect revenge but will she really get it or is it just for your peice of mind. :rotfl: Good luck.

Marie: Isn't it wonderful top know that other kids aren't perfect too? Of course we were when we were younger. :rolleyes1

I just went to the Hershey outlets. They have a great scrapbooking store there...Hershey things for a scrapbook...

Ooh...M&N said the magic word---outlets! Now we completely understand how we got into the closet chaos to begin with....

(psst...just for knowledge's sake, how far are the outlets from the hotel? :rolleyes1)

Oh yeah! And shoes and socks and handbags and hats don't care if you've gained any weight. :lmao:

I hear

...need to get to the fitness center before it lets loose...or I may not go...bye!

Oh yeah... Magikitty, we have the Schwan's man here too. I am real familiar with their ice cream goodies. Yummy!
Here's you a closet smiley. Is this the way you feel when you take a look inside?
smiley166abgif.gif

Oh, and yes, pretzels are good for you. Even chocolate covered, it evens out. Just like banana splits, the banana and cherry make it health food. :rotfl: I had a neighbor once who said cake was healthy for you because it had eggs in it. :rotfl: Works for me! :thumbsup2
DH's granny used to say anything made with fruit was good for you even if it was dessert so I guess you can pretty much use anybody's old rule of thumb to make anything you eat healthy!
Singing animals, huh? I would certainly think about having chicken for supper too!
eatdrink023.gif
I guess we have lucked out so far. No singing critters.
We have had the flying screaming monkeys. I found some different critters for stocking stuffers and they were a great hit with the kids. It's pretty funny to watch the dog go nuts when someone sends one screaming and flying.

M&N I am not ever about to fess up to all the crazy stunts I pulled as a kid!

Well, Pepper, get chatting with us then! :rotfl2:

Oh, Wendy, bless your heart. I would never, ever, subject someone I liked to the perils of my closet. That is why I have chosen to ignore it. I like myself too much! :lmao:

Ha ha. I thought everyone had logged off, so I went beddy bye. :rotfl:

hehehehhe,
This thread is hilarious, I love the name!:thumbsup2

Welcome Kimberlee!! What a beautiful family. :goodvibes

BOO.....Remember me?:hippie:

I've been AWOL for quit sometime now. Keeping up with some of you on facebook but not all of you have facebook. I MISS YOU.:sad1:

Been having to fight for computer time and facebook is about all I have time for. (I must do that to keep a check up on DD) Pretty much on and off on there too. That is where I learned there is a new thread though. Figured I'd come over and say hi.

DS bought him his own laptop so I don't have to fight with him anymore for computer time.

DD is helping out with VBS so the computer is ALL mine. BWAHAHA:surfweb:

SHMU! Good to see ya over here again. I see you on Facebook though. :)

Hello TKers!

welcomewagon.gif
to our new friends that decided to stop by and check us out!

For those of you trying to track me down to make sure I post please see below......

This was my post from last night. Didn't you say something about a TKer is someone who's post is skipped over or ignored. ;)

What a busy day it was today! Work, Baby shower, Closing on our refinance and then a PTO meeting. It only gets busier from here. Only 8 more days until school is over! :woohoo: I'm sure I'll be feeling like this
crazy.gif
by the end of August but I'll try to make sure I enjoy the ride.

I hope everyone has a good night!

Awwww, I didn't see the post. I'm sorry. :guilty:

Hey Shmu! You are right about it being a long time...but we still feel like you are one of us. I thought we would have to email you in case you didn't get the pm. How do you find out about here on Facebook? I've never gone there. I miss your stories. Hope Puny is doing good!

I believe Puny is on Facebook. :upsidedow

Have fun! I need to get back under control. I have a lot of weight to lose.

A quick hello to all.

:woohoo: kimberleeJohnston glad to have you on board. Have you been on other cruises besides Disney? I won't tell if you have :rotfl2:.

I see that everyone is busy, busy, busy. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your evening. :thumbsup2

Chat later.

Good morning! I see we survived the night and slowly everyone will check in. Hugs to everyone!

We had huge storms move through here early this morning. Heavy rain and lightning and wind like I haven't heard! It'll be quiet for the rest of the morning but more showers expected this afternoon. Of course, the weatherman made no mention of the storms last night....

Sukie--new ticker? You've committed to the cruise I see...how exciting! Please tell Pikester where we are...

Marie, you totally reminded me....has anyone actually seen Marie from the Aristocats at DW? I so love her and realized that I've never seen her.

EPCOT is my fave park. Especially if there's Food&Wine involved! :rotfl:

M&N, you're totally right though. You can never have too many pics of the castle. This last time I was able to get one of those "magical" pics with Tink in my hands with the castle in the background. I was absolutley thrilled! I also cannot ride Its a Small World enough. I absolutely love it.

SCHBR'smom...what a wonderful tradition to take the little ones before kindergarten! I totally remember riding on Dumbo with my Dad when I was three years old (many, many moons ago). I just took my nieces last month--ages 16, 15, and 9. It was really good ages to go. The 9er still loved seeing the Princesses and the older ones were ready to ride the bigger rides.

Hey D&D...how's it going today?

I would have to say I relate most to Belle...I love to read, love to talk to inanimate objects, have weird taste in men....

Gee Kitty--I knew we had lots in common, I would say EPCOT is my favorite park as well, I also LOVE IASW, and Some of those things about Belle apply to me as well!!

Good morning everyone! Glad to see I haven't worn out my welcome.....yet:rotfl2: Thanks for welcoming me with open arms

Welcome to SCHBR's mom, always nice to meet a new TKer. Everyone around here just couldn't be friendlier.

Hey, BKMETV I was gonna respond to your post about your DD and her new hand gestures but was afraid to post on the last thread lest I send it over the limit in the middle of the big move. You have my sympathy. My DD is 9 and I have been trying to get across the point of not doing things just because everyone else does. (We actually had a really great sermon this Sunday on how we as Christians are supposed to not be just like everyone else.... too bad it was in the adult class and not hers.) ANYWAY.... Maybe we can console each other when they hit being a teenager. On the other hand, your DD might just come in handy if you get really ticked off by an idiot when you are driving! (which reminds me of a George Carlin quote “Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?”)

Speaking of "out of the mouth of babes".... I still remember VIVIDLY when my DS had just watched "Homeward Bound" for the first time. Out of the entire show he picks up on one thing. During church he proceeds to use his new word and call the preachers son a "butt sniffer". :scared: Beautiful, just beautiful, right?

MagiKitty, I can relate to the closet chaos! I recently did a bit of cleaning. Ended up selling 19 dresses on ebay and did not even make a dent! Thankfully the closet is not collapsing but I do have to tunnel in! I have a 45 gallon trash bag full of shoes I need to sort through plus another 20 or so pair on some shelves. Then, of course, there are the "seasonal" totes and the "when I get skinny again" totes to go through. Why on earth do women think they need so many clothes? :sad2:

Welcome kimberleeJohnston! I agree with everyone else... you have a lovely family. Hope we get to see you around some more.

Whgrn, I think I just made it back to the thread soon enough but I never got a pm either about the new thread. :scratchin Sounds kinda fishy, doesn't it?
fish.gif
Next we will have to start a thread for the rejected and forgotten friends of the friendless TKers! Right, Pikester?

Marie--I hope this doesn't mean I am about to be a bad first time mommy, but I found the whol butt sniffer comment just to funny, and knowing me instead of shaming my kid, I'd probably just crack up. :rotfl:

Sorry I missed the big move, I worked everyday last week, plus the whole weekend at the 2nd job, whoa-won;t make that mistake again, at least not until after the baby is born. Just to much work. Then of course on Monday about half way through the day EVERYTHING started to ache. Great! Woke up Tuesday all sniffly and achy. And don;t feel to much better today. Hopefully I get better soon, I am planning on having company this weekend, a friend I met at my last job, who I haven't seen in so long she doesn't even know I'm pregnant!!

 Hugs LITC! Hope you feel better! Otherwise, how is everything going?

Yeah! Everyone is checking in....

Oh, pepper, I have so much weight to lose...and to think I'm so looking forward to the meet at the chocolate capital of the world! Amd I'm planning a trip during free dining AND Food and Wine Festival. Ah, the irony...:rotfl:

HI Kitty, thanks I hope I am better soon to. I don;t think I even blew my nose this much last year when I had bronchitis and a sinus infection at the same time! At least my job provides kleenex, so I don't have to bring my own!!

I had some "worrysomne" news this week, at least to me. I went for my check up with the dr, and she said that on my last ultrasound they thought they saw a "dialated kidney" in the baby. She swears it is nothing to worry about, but you can't tell a first time mom something could be wrong with one of your lil ones organs-but not to worry. So I will be having another ultrasound to check in again in about 3 weeks. Hopefully I get better news after that. I called a friend who recently became a neo-natal nurse and she said not only has she never heard of it but never had a baby come through with it either. So that was pretty comforting. I tried googling it, but the info may as well have been in japanese it was that confusing.

Do you mean a dilated kidney? It just means the kidney is a little larger than expected. There may be a little concern about the baby's urinary system, but if your amniotic fluid levels are normal, I would just keep watching the baby and monitor its progress. I know its hard not to worry, but part of your job is keeping calm and happy and making the best baby-making environment you can. Remember, Baby feels everything you do, and you want Baby to be super happy in there!

Yes, sorry wasn't sure on the spelling of it. She did say that the amniotic fluid around the baby was good. So I was really upset at first, but i have gotten almost back to "normal" feeling. It is of course scary, but I really really feel like the baby will be ok.

I'd guess that LITC-let just doesn't like to pee too much, especially if the fluid is good. Everything will be great, try not to worry too much. Focus on preparing for the arrival. Have you gotten the nursery finished?

Unfortunately no, the nursery has been at a standstill for about two weeks now. Not that we really have many steps to take right now. Dh has to finish the last wall of painting, and we need to decide if we are doing a border (also would be painted), and then just clean out the painting equipment that is in there. Everything else we need to get from people (like my sister in law is giving us her changing table) and hopefully most of the rest will come from the shower, which is not until the end of August.

LivinInTheCastle, I hope they give you a break at work and you get a chance to feel better soon! It is always distressing when they say anything out of the ordinary about your baby but if the doctor said not to worry I would take her word and try to be calm. In any case I will say a prayer for you and the baby.

Marie--I hope this doesn't mean I am about to be a bad first time mommy, but I found the whole butt sniffer comment just to funny, and knowing me instead of shaming my kid, I'd probably just crack up. :rotfl:
Well, I hope laughing at your children's bloopers or bad humor count for something! When my DS made the butt sniffer comment he was too young to understand and I did laugh. Now, however, he is now old enough to know what it means. He still cracks me up and makes me laugh, lots of times at some pretty obnoxious stuff. Of course, since he is a teen he gets a big kick out of how much of a response he is able to get from me using shock value. He curls my hair with some things! I would prefer if he had a little purer mind but with his father that is out of the question. Oh well, I am grateful that he feels close enough and comfortable enough with me that he goes ahead and is who he is instead of being one way with me and then another with the guys.

MagiKitty, I am right there with you. I REALLY need to lose some weight! I weigh more right now than I ever thought I would and I also even weigh more than I did when I was pregnant! How sad is that? There does always seem to be something better to do than diet! If I even think diet I start craving everything, even stuff I never normally eat. Has anyone ever lost any weight with the Slim Fast diet? I just started and hoping I will at least lose a few pounds. I haven't seen my scales go DOWN in a really long time! I so hope that I am able to take a few pounds off of my poor wittle tootsies before our trip to WDW.

Thank you both Kitty and Marie, for the encouraging words about the baby! It's awesome to have friends like you guys!

If you want I can join in the weight loss discussion, I to am by far at my heaviest, I had lost about 12 pounds before I got pregnant, of course that came back and then some! :lmao:
