Need advice on booking dinners. I’m staying at the Beach Club with a teen and 3 year old. I’m also celebrating my birthday. We are on the dining plan so need help finding a delicious dinner for my birthday that takes one dining credit. Arrival night we plan on walking to the Boardwalk and having dinner at the Cake Bake Shop. The next day is my birthday so I was thinking to going to Toledo but I hear mixed reviews. Would you recommend? Or do you recommend another restaurant? Last year, we did Steakhouse 71 so looking for somewhere different. Thanks!

Do you have any park plans for your birthday? Hopper tickets? Character dining is a good use of dining credit.

We loved Wailulu Grill at the new Poly Tower! Really good food and beautiful atmosphere. You could walk around the resort afterward, ride the MK boat, get a Dole Whip, see the fireworks from the beach! You could also try to get into Trader Sam's (before 8 pm with 21-and-unders) and see the cool effects in the lounge. I have not been to Toledo but CSR is also a lovely resort though not as spectacular as Poly, IMHO.

You may know this, the Cake Bake Shop is not currently included in the DDP. You would have to pay out of pocket for it. It would save a dining credit, so perhaps you could do a 2 credit meal for your birthday night?

Yes, thanks! Which restaurant would you recommend?

I have been to Toledo, it’s exceptionally good in decor, service and food. Hoped to return there over my Thanksgiving trip but didn’t happen. Oh well, perhaps next time. I don’t think it’s a one credit meal but do check.

If not available you might enjoy the Creperie in France, Epcot. It offers a family menu Ina sit down setting and probably is on the one credit list.
Have fun wherever you go!

Maybe Toppolino’s or Flying Fish if you want to stay in the Beach Club area. Yachtsman Steakhouse has not disappointed in the past. Not 100% sure of the credits needed, I don’t do the DDP. It’s hard making recommendations because everyone is different and I find Disney restaurants to be very inconsistent. I’ll have a great meal one trip, then the next, it’s just okay. For a consistently good QS location, I recommend Primo Piatto at the Riviera. And happy birthday!

Neither FF or Topolino’s are 1 credit and probably Yacthman isn’t either 😟. We used to do the dining plan but too many changes to make it worthwhile.

The Polite Pig in Disney Springs gives great bang for the buck, is one credit and has inside and outside tables manned by waitstaff; just a thought.

Yes, but because they are eating at Cake Bake Shop one night, they will have an extra TS credit (CBS is not on the DDP). That’s why I suggested a few 2 credit locations. You are right though, I don’t think Yachtsman is one credit. I’m not positive on any, but I do believe they are all 2.

How restaurant calm is the 3 year old?
My favorite birthday spot is Jiko.
Boma is also great, and AKL is wonderful to explore.

If you have hoppers, and lime Mexican, San Angel is also festive, and there’s the boat ride. The teen could take the 3 year old on the boat and let you enjoy a birthday marg in peace.

Which would you pick between Narcoossees and Flying Fish?

That's a tough one! For ambience, I would probably pick Narcoossees. The view of MK from the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Depending on how late your 3-year old can stay up, you could time it so you are there during the MK fireworks. It's magical :)

We really enjoy Flying Fish if you can spare two credits. They do have a kids menu. If you’re doing MK in the morning, you could come back for a break, then have time to get ready and easily get over to the boardwalk for dinner.

Does the Wailulu take reservations? I’m looking at Feb 9 through the 19th, and there were no reservations available during that time.
