Thanks for the address for the park. That will help a lot with trying to find a place close enough.

Good morning ladies! It seems that the little "secret" trip has already exploded into full-fledged planning! Yeah! I think it'll be so wonderful to have a get-together, and its far enough ahead that we can really schedule and plan. I wonder if we can get a group rate at a hotel? How many do you need for that?

I see we're on page 249. As we post today, I'll try to keep an eye on the thread and once we hit 250 sometime today, I'll take us to our new place! Let's look at it as closing the year, closing the thread together!

Already its much much "warmer" than yesterday. We were single digits most of it, with the wind chills making it just so much more pleasant. Already in teens! Woo-hoo!

So Hersey Park between June 20th and 25th? :scratchin I'm not sure I can talk DH into this. He wants to go to Yellowstone via Mt Rushmore. We like to avoid the park in July, it's almost as crowded as WDW. Yellowstone will be there in 2011. ;) He's such a party poop. :snooty:

DL55, how about you bribe him with tickets to the golf tournament that's in Philly around that time?

Ok ladies, it seems that we have to come up with a brilliant plan to entice the menfolk to come to Hershey. Bribery? NASCAR? Golf? I know I"m talking to BF about touring the Civil War sites like Gettysburg (although I'm secretly trying to get to Boyds Bears again), and Hershey just happens to be nearby....imagine that!

Maybe.. if Hershey Park was located in Brooklin Mich. :rotfl2: or Talladega, AL.

I'm still holding out hope for another TK meet.
Don't you people realize I have states to color???? :lmao:

OK, the only dates I know are bad in that range are the 21 and 22. DD graduates on the 21 and the 22 is DS's last day of school (as of now...) Other than that I should be wide open!

oh yeah, as far as hotels go, the Holiday Inn we stayed at was about 1/2 hour from Hershey. We picked it becuase it was all that was available last minute and it was in good proximity to the campground where D&D and Racetrack were staying. There are plenty of good hotels in and around Hershey for the same or even less $$. I know the Hampton Inn includes breakfast, and the price is the same as the Holiday Inn. If we're planning this far ahead, we should have no problem finding rooms!

I really wasn't trying to keep Hershey a secret...I wanted to wait until Pikester got her DH nailed down to the dates.
Gettysburg is a neat trip. I have an auto tape tour cd. There's a very nice double decker bus tour you can take too. They just updated one attraction there. And of course, the Boyds Bear barn is unreal.
Whoever wants info on anything...you know how to reach me!
I went to Chocolate World today. They have this neat cottage made up of chocolate bars, twizzlers, huge kisses, pb cups. You name it! The stained glass windows were melted Jolly Ranchers. The shingles were Hershey bars...alternating dark and milk chocolate. I hope I can upload pics.

Ok people, it's official. The week of June 20th is Hershey Park week. DH just came home and told me that his schedule is clear for that week. :woohoo:

I've been looking at lots and lots of hotels. Jonestown, Harrisburg, Grantville, Middletown, etc. I want to be under $100 per night (before tax) with a pool and would love to have a fridge in the room.

We plan on doing other stuff besides Hershey Park so the hotel does not have to be really close to Hershey but I don't want to have drive forever to get there either. I should say DH doesn't want to have to drive.

M&N...I do hope you can upload some pics! That sounds so cool! And if you can give me any history-type touristy info, that would be great! Anything to tempt the BF. But of course, should he choose not to come with me (pooperhead), its his loss!

I'm with Wendy on this one...with enough time and a keen eye and bargain sense, we can do this trip on a budget and have a fantastic time!

I have no known plans for June as of this moment...well, I have plans for a TKer meet!

D&D...I see you Kansas state is still white. Been trying to convince BF to go to a Buffalo ranch out there. I love buffalo! They're so cute and stinky. I went to Zoo America while at Hershey (totally recommended BTW) and they had two! I brought home a stuffed buffalo that rides around in my car--I named him Milton. So, if I ever get to go, you're invited to color Kansas right up with me.

 Awww...thanks Kitty!

Still trying to catch up, boy everyone has been chat-y.

Pike--Sorry to hear that DFIL, is that ill. I hope th time you all can spend together brings lots and lots of lasting joy.

M&N --I completely agree about no longer needing to venture out into the big bad wold of the dis.

M&N -- dont know if I could do that time of year, but brochures might be good. I have never been and I like to pre plan trips like this.

Pike-- that is DH birthday too!

Here is a little photo of Walters first Christmas.
Please ignore how bad I look after 4 hours of sleep.

Kitty---Are you staying on tonight to catch 250? Wheatland is the home of PA's only pres! Not a big deal but...Does he like trains? I'm not sure if the tourist place here has much on Gettysburg but I'll try.

LITC---It's always fun to look at the stuff anyway...some of the brochures are better than the actual place though.

Walter looks like he enjoyed the visit from Santa...happy eyes! Soooo cute!

Hey M&N he woke up very happy (and I was to considering he slept about 8 hours straigh that night. ( I could have gotten a great night sleep if I didn;t have so much Christmas stuff to do!!! )

M&N...are you here? I'm on, and I just saw that we're on page 250. Should I restart us?

LITC....Walter is just adorable. So sweet to see that he enjoyed his first Christmas. And you look adorable too. Happy First Christmas to all of you!

Moral dilemma: both Glee and the Office are on for two hours tonight. Since I decided to divorce David Cook, my new husband is Jim Halpert AKA John Krasinski from the Office. He's my new yummy.
